😱

Louisa

I agree 💔 so many questions still, this still felt like the lead up to a bigger ending like the last 2 episodes 😭 man bummer 💔

Phillipa Engels

It really did. I can't believe it's over

Robert Haynes

Thank you for the wonderful ride!

Robert Haynes

Happy ending for more than I expected. Not for the families as it seems they were deemed unnecessary in the end but for team Kasner, great ending!

Emily L

😱 my face this whole time omg omg omg

Elle Monah

This confused me even more. But I think I need to re-listen to Goshawk in its entirety to make it all make sense.

James Rule

... transformation? Oh man... Talk about the luck being gone...

Bryan Smith

I once again have the "problem" of choosing between Old Gods and White Vault on the drive home!

A_Posthuman

Can the release party be enabled to rewatch later? I missed it

Steven

Fantastic a happy ending but with many scars along the way.

Mac

thank you for giving the world these stories; I loved listening to every episode!

Fool & Scholar Productions

We don't believe it's saved. We tried to but it didn't seem to work :/ We will have another during the public release

Theo at home

Totally agree! I'm afraid I'm a little bummed out. 😟

Phillipa Engels

I am, which feels a little disloyal. The story has been fantastic, and the team has absolutely earned my trust and respect as story tellers, but I still feel like years of following a story deserves a bit more closure than the lack of answers we got

Phillipa Engels

Well, the big one is what was actually in the vault, though I can actually understand why you did explain that. But something that confused me was the implication that the luck was gone and that the artifacts had abandoned the families. Maybe I understood that wrong? But it sounded like the Iwai matriarch was implying they wouldn't be serving the sites anymore? Again, maybe I misunderstood that, but the explanation felt too brief and when I tried to check the transcript it wasn't available. Maybe I just missed a lot of what was going on?

Avalon Mist

That was such a wonderful ending!! I’ll miss this show; I’ve spent the past five years enjoying it. I’ll definitely be relistening a few times, now that it’s all done!

Fool & Scholar Productions

SPOILERS FOR ANYONE SEEING THIS: The luck ended for the families and will not return (evidenced by the losses of Linnea, and numerous other characters throughout Goshawk, especially in this episode). Dis & Kosuke only had the luck when they were of active use to the artifacts they carried. The matriarch confirmed that they're going to follow Linnea's plan -to kill "the thing beyond the vault doors" (and thus kill the guardians - which feed off it, and end the cycles, etc). That was the conversation in that scene, and the transcript should be up now, sorry :x Dragana and Amelia also confirm that the families are no longer of value to the guardians. Basically, as of a few years after this episode, the White Vault universe is very similar to ours... as there's no more luck, no more sites, no more supernatural. Hope this is helpful <3

Phillipa Engels

That does explain quite a bit. I'll admit I'm still confused as to why the guardians felt they didn't need the families anymore (it's implied the system had been in place over 70k years). I missed the bit where it was said they were going to follow Linneas's plan, but things make sense in light of that. Please don't think any of this was a criticism of the story. It's been absolutely wonderful overall, and I was always going to be sad about the ending. That explanation has definitely helped me feel better about it. Thank you again for all the hard work that you've put into the series over the years - it's been an absolute delight and I'm looking forward to whatever comes next!

Fool & Scholar Productions

Totally :) And glad to help fill in blanks as there are no more additions to the story, and it's the end of 8+ years of cork-boards and theories. Amelia hints at why in her final speech: The families are no longer needed. The elders/artifacts found a way to make sacrifices walk to the sites themselves (like Marion from Artifact). Perhaps not all families would be ditched immediately, but eventually they will outlive their usefulness.

Shanni Prutchi

One thing that I was left wondering - what was the motivation of the kidnappers? Was it tied to the site, or the girls were just unlucky enough to have been kidnapped?

Luke Ciancio

Oooh the echo of Dis saving someone as her daughter did is a nice touch.

Fool & Scholar Productions

Yes. We have no plans to create sequels, spinoffs, etc. This is the end of the story we intended to tell.

Shanni Prutchi

Thank you! And thank you for making such a wonderful show.

Jason Shirey

Thank you! This is such a great story! Been listening for a couple years now. You all are so talented! I’m awestruck! I kind of want to cry now that it’s over! Tomorrow I’m starting a binge from the beginning because…why not?!

Luke Ciancio

But that means the world would be laced with disappearances, based on criteria that humans can only guess, increasing as the families' plan is enacted! I guess, despite the calm, it really really isn't a happy ending.

Julian Seguin

Will there be a Q+A later down the line?

Matthew Antonson

Sad to see this end, it was the podcast that got me into podcasts in the first place. I know you guys said the universe is finished but I hope at some point you reconsider because this doesn't really feel like the end, especially with the last after credits scene laying out the future course of action for the biggest question of all. Plus I would always be down for more miniseries, they make for great suspenseful horror even when the we already know what the monster is and how it all ends.

Shelby

And it being Adele who she said was the same age as her daughter, too!

Shelby

(SPOILERS!!) Kidlat and Dragona survived, that’s all that matters!! 🙌🙌 Although having it end with the world being casually thrust into chaos is such a wild choice 😂 in a way Amelia got what she wanted in the end… to think it’s finally over… from the tiny bunker in Svalbard to now… wow! Idk what to do with my freetime now that White Vault is over 😭💔

Leann Yudasz

I really enjoyed this. I’m going to do a revisit too. Such a good show and you guys all did such a good job! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Fool & Scholar Productions

Are there any questions in particular that remain for you beyond the specific nature of what lies beyond the door?

Julian Seguin

I figured you were going to leave that unanswered. But if you can tell me anything, that would be great.

Fool & Scholar Productions

Anything in particular? We did a QA at the end of the livestream - which is now up. That will probably answer most of your questions.

Emerald Hawthorne

Yet sadly, still with the global warming and polar bears STILL DON'T HAVE THUMBS.

Amy

Spoiler below Why do I feel the way to kill the thing behind the antechamber is Dragana and more explosives? Also, I wonder, do the traitorous guardians have anything to do with the family members who were sacrificed? It’s something I’d been thinking about ever since the guardian that used to be Jónas recruited Amelia

Christian Guerrero

This series has filled me with so much joy for so many years. I don’t know what I’m gonna do without it. You two are some of the most gifted storytellers of our generation, this is a masterpiece in my opinion I want to hear so much more I want to know more of the families more of the guardians the artifacts the origin of it all thank you guys so much for such an incredible story

Mac

I really would love to hear about the world and the families dealing with the consequences and new reality. 😭

Maria Gonzales

So in the first listen I thought it was Kidlat going thru the change... was it actually Dis's friend? And did Dis sacrifice herself bc she was also scratched and didn't want to become other.

Mac

Touché, but I mean once they fully implement Linnea’s plan and elders get mad😋. Maybe in a few years revisit the new gens of the families see how they’ve been dealing.

Quinn Haynes

Been listening to the white vault since I started university. Now I’m in my final semester and listening to the final part :)

Fool & Scholar Productions

Thank you so much for these super kind words. We can't believe it's all over after so long, but we look forward to creating new and different stories, and we hope you come with us there, too!

Joseph leamy

I knew I heard of Daisuke Tsuji somewhere before but it took me until now I realized that’s Jin Sakai. Such an awesome realization. But this story was incredible. I’m glad I stumbled onto it on YouTube!

Debbie Dixon

Well I finally listened to the last couple episodes. I tried to put it off as long as possible (sad that it was ending). 😆 I even restarted by listening at the beginning. Great story and loved the characters. GRAHAM will always be my favorite. 😉 The first podcast I ever started listening to was The White Vault and was immediately hooked.

Nay

Just did a full-series relisten and whew - even better the second time around!

miloway

I only found this show at the start of this year, which is ironic cuz it ended right then, but now I'm caught up 8 months later and wow it has been a wild ride! I really want to thank you for the wonderful and bone chilling story you've written and produced. There are pieces of media you consume and forget and then there are those that you remember and cherish for a lifetime, this is the latter. This year has been extremely tough and The White Vault has pulled me through it so once again, thank you

Fool & Scholar Productions

Thank YOU for listening :) We're so glad to distract you with fictional horrors and hope your hear gets better

Stephen Thom

Just finished the White Vault/Goshawk, and all the miniseries etc, thank you so much, it's an incredible achievement, I think the best podcast I've listened to. I really enjoyed the change from the found footage format for Goshawk. Well done to all involved, an incredible listening journey.

What happened to Simon and Raimy? I know they received an artefact at the end of the original storyline and I assumed it was from the new gen believers, but he and Simon never showed up this season. Raimy also got a job offer from the Family, so does that mean he had to be sent back to the site as a sacrifice? Perhaps it’s a bit selfish but they were the characters I hoped would get a happy ending above the rest lol Also which of the Families is Iffy/Ирина from? I think we only met the Зима family (a little on the nose with the name but it’s funny) at the Cairo Summit, so there’s a second we don’t know.. And Dís may not have gotten her answers, but I’d still like to know how the victims are chosen for a cycle and why the three options for them are the Madness, the Change, and The Way of The Heart— more precisely why they have to be killed violently; was it just a fun narrative choice or does it have some purpose? Also is there any specific way the people who experience the Change are chosen? Jonas didn’t know about any of it (right?), Lucas wanted to become a Guardian but didn’t, and Eva became one despite her disdain. Was there any specific reason Jonas joined the new guard? What happened to Amelia’s son? Why don’t the Guardians and Artefacts talk to the families? I know it was mentioned that it’s hard for them to talk, but they don’t seem to have as much of a problem talking when they’re pretending to be a loved one (except that they’re a bit… hollow and only say things, they never respond to anything). Why do they only take the form of those who are gone (or why *did* they, one was Iffy in her presence)? If people are separated, they won’t know if someone’s gone or just not currently there. And finally, how did the families split/begin? How did they know about the eruption? Or was that the Guardians? When/why was the glyph language lost despite it being nearly the same across every site? I know the answers to most of these will probably be “we’ll never know”, but I thought they were worth asking regardless. Sorry for the bombardment of questions lol This is an absolutely incredible series and honestly the only podcast I can tolerate (really NOT a podcast person lol) and the sheer amount of work you (and the cast/crew) have put into this was well-worth it. I’m so excited to see where you go with the Don’t Mind series and anything else in the future!! :>

Fool & Scholar Productions

Simon & Rai are safe :) They saw the package and said "NOPE!" Iffy is from the Russian family referenced in Avrum. We'll answer more, but atm we're still being hacked. So glad you enjoyed our story :)
