We are excited to announce our newest project to hit the world of The White Vault.

Set in 1700's Qing Dynasty China, Imperial reveals a new page in the mystery. Similarly to Artifact, this new mini-series will be released on our Patreon, and while it adds to the mystery of The White Vault, it will not be required to understand the main story.

We plan to release Imperial starting in Spring of 2019, and we hope you will tune in for a blast from the past. 谢谢

Oh very excited and interested. Another great reason to be excited for Spring (supposed to be 4 degrees on Saturday)

Coincidentally eating red bean mochi right now! China has a lot of interesting and unsettling history that most people haven't heard of. I listened to a nice podcast called Rationally Speaking on the Mohists - part Aristotelian philosopher-monks but all UN intervention team. Chinese history has an unsettling quality to it similar to existential horror - but instead of Cthulhu the monster is something like the system trap referred to in the famous essay Meditations on Moloch. I think what made Liberty and Tales from the Tower stand out is that the protagonists seem to be embedded in a partially decayed sci-fi Roman Empire - it speaks to something deep inside of us - our lizard brains sense civilization collapse can't be waved off just because we have Internet/Roads. I think you have got to be sophisticated - you seem to know it's not as simple as waving crumbling civilization in our faces - the half hints and a moody soundscape are appreciated - the lizard brain doesn't know facts or exposition but can monitor system threats unblinking for hours. There's so many rabbit holes here but if you're ever short on inspiration Gene Wolfe The Book of the New Sun is a masterwork on the topic of a Dark Age - I think my brain rewired itself after reading between the lines - I don't normally do trigger warnings but there's something very potent about this theme if it's handled right - it's powerful stuff! BOTNS seems to be polarizing - half the people don't understand it and the other half find something in their personalities changed irrevocably. I wonder if it is possible to produce such an effect through Audio Drama? :)
