Late September Update (Patreon)

Hey Friends,

It's another busy week here are Fool and Scholar HQ!

First here's a quick update on the new patch rocker: We have a visual mockup of the design!Just a reminder, you need to be a Patron on October 13th to get one, and follow the protocol from this post.

The White VaultWe are deep into the production process. We've recorded the bulk of the first few episodes and are working our way through the rest of the season. Below is Sophie Yang (Dr. Zhou Liu on The White Vault, Dr. Miriam Wu in VAST Horizon) in the studio in Taipei.  Also pictured is the ever-serious sound tech in the background. :)He doesn't understand any of the English words being spoken but understands that we appreciate him.

VAST HorizonWe are rapidly bringing VAST Horizon to this season's conclusion. Recording has wrapped and we're finishing up sound design on Episode 10. VAST Horizon is kind of like running a marathon, and so very glad to have almost reached the finish line on our most sound-design intensive show. We will be releasing the bloopers for VAST (a supercut for the entire season) tomorrow, as it contains no spoilers for episode 2.10.

"Do you seek him? Do you seek the Nameless God?"

Dark DiceSome of you may have heard that we recorded an orchestra last week to create over 26 minutes of brand new, fully orchestral music. We are also busy recording vocals for the season finale, in addition to doing a LOT of worldbuilding in preparation for our next story. We're going to make a larger post about it later, but in short we have decided to recraft many elements of our world to make it fully original. This opens our story up to cool things like potential tv/film adaptations in the coming years (No, we don't have anything in the works yet, but we love telling stories and want to know how far we can go), and most of you will not notice the differences as it mostly affects things like Forgotten Realms owned deities or proper nouns for monsters/species. It's a big deal. It takes a lot of work, but we really don't have anything to share just yet.

Our RPG Adventure Domain of the Nameless God is also VERY CLOSE to being a GOLD best seller on the DM's Guild with only 15 more sales needed to reach that goal! It's currently on sale as part of an amazing Great Old Ones bundle, so if you pick it up this week you'll get an extra $50 in supernaturally creepy eldritch adventures and help us reach a new best-selling status! For you Pen and Paper enthusiasts, we're also working on a brand new class that we'll share here in October.

Liberty

Kaitlin completed the first draft of our new season of Liberty, which will premiere immediately following The White Vault season 4 conclusion. We're elbow deep in script revisions and are excited to share more as we get a little bit closer to February.

I know it's kind of strange to also include a personal update, but things have admittedly been sort of weird around Portland lately. More weird than usual. Over the last week and a half, the Oregon forest fires blotted out the sun and made the air quality quantifiably hazardous. We also lost power briefly during this time, but in short we just wanted to say that after all of that our life is back to normal COVID-isolation. We are safe and appreciate all the kind messages we've received over the last few weeks.

We spent the most hazardous parts of the week remote recording (as seen above with  Daniel Muñoz - who was recently nominated for an award for his performance in Iluka), writing, drinking tea, staying calm, petting Eezo, and carrying on. We fully appreciate just how lucky we are to be able to work and live under these conditions and just wanted to say thanks for your support! All the best,-Travis, Kaitlin, and Eezo
