Hey everyone! As we're currently doing plot for Act IV Part 3, one thing that kept coming up is Simplr. We're a bit unhappy with the state of the app at the moment and would love your feedback on it.We initially thought it could be really fun for casual hook ups etc. but since we have limited capacity for sex scenes each update and a large amount of love interests, it's almost never appreciated having an unknown girl take a sex scene over one of the exist ones. Even if we want to do a new girl, usually there's a much better way to introduce her. Think Satin in the Red Light District for example. I personally think that's a lot more fun than meeting her on Simplr. Overall the Simplr experience just feels a bit unexciting at the moment and it takes away valuable development time. So I wanna hear your feedback. Please vote & leave a comment if you have any thoughts or ideas on the matter.Thanks!- Steve

Simplr currently isnt worth it. But if we tweak it a bit, like let the MC choose if he wants to have a hookup with a stranger or spend time working on his relation with girls and have repurcursions of those actions could be a way forward. Not sure if this really fits in with your overall plot though.

Why don't you just use it for sensual side chats? Just a little fun on the side with no story impact. It would just be simple "selfies" and maybe short "cell videos" to experience in between major story arcs - that is, IF the MC can follow the correct answer paths to get to these "rewards" otherwise the Simplr girl gets disinterested (it's a dating app like Tinder anyway) and just ghosts/blocks

LikItB4IStickIt.

Yeah just like in real life easy sluts you met on Tinder that took an hour or less to talk up just isn't as fun to bang as doing it the old fashioned way and build up a bit more anticipation (ie met at random while grocery shopping) that actually takes a bit of effort. In CK it turned out my fav girl on Simplr I already met previously at the strip club anyway (Envy). It's probably why I just can't get interested in AVN's where there's little to no time invested involved to get into the girls' pants beyond some 5-min introduction, there's plain old porn clips for that.

Justin Weisner

If it was introduced when there wasn’t as many girls the MC can get with, I can see the value of the app just like how another game I play uses their dating app. However, because of how far into the game we are and the plethora of girls you can get with at this point, I would probably never use it or even open it to be honest so I would say just have the MC delete it and spend the time on the things we do use a lot in the game like regular messages from the girls (either more naughty texts, pics or small gifs) to help build anticipation for the next lewd scene.

Harrison S Burd

I don't think I've progressed far enough to really have an opinion, but I like the idea of it.

The thing with dating apps is that they often cause drama and unexpected consequences. Random hook-ups become people in your life, people in your life might be on the app that you discover and thus lead to situations that might not have developed organically (like the Asian Milf...) It would be interesting to see someone we hooked up with as the waitress at the coffee house, or a TA for one of our classes etc. I know it's an underrepresented part of the game atm but it certainly is something which has some writing potential, and can be more than just throw away scenes, if planned out. That is where your team looking at improving earlier acts could actually work to build some of those introductions in. Maybe one of your simplr matches actually bails on you to go on a date with Charlie, etc. (I know he's supposedly gay, but come on, who buys that? Maybe the MC can discover the truth of this if he uses the app and lead to interesting conversations etc. That's the power of it as a writing tool, I hope you don't discard or downgrade it's importance to the story.

I agree, there are a lot of women in the game already to get with. I can see the value of a fling like what might happen on an Amsterdam or Paris trip or something such as with a temporary character. If a romance like that were to evolve, they could have just exchanged phone numbers and chatted and or sexted via regular chat on phones. Due to the evolution of the story and the characters in this game currently I am much more interested in them than adding many new ones even if it would add a sense of variety.

David Janek

A thought maybe have a side update just for simplr (like Halloween or Christmas) and maybe slowly introduce them that way

David Lizaria

Love the idea of new / casual hook ups, simplr just seems a bit of a complicated way of doing it without spending serious development time on the app itself which then leads to longer time between acts. I haven't played act 3 yet but for act 2 it made sense because europe, but in terms of a college grounds it doesn't make a lot of sense.

jerseybish

i agree with the folks here who have said they would prefer more time just spent on sexy text conversations with girls you're currently with!

Majah Flavah

If it can be used to advance a plot line then by all means, keep it around and use it whenever, but otherwise, not so much.

Jebboy

I would like to have more text interactions with love interests, getting sweeter as the relationships improve. Getting a random I love you or some other message from Penelope would make my day and add content even when away from that person for story reasons.

evil_rooster

I never like adding additional complexity when ther are so many good things in the game already. It's just one more thing to debug. If you do it, go all in . Otherwise it's a liabilty.

John E Nebe

I would say work on Simplr when you have the chance as a side project that way you get the game out and when Simplr is where you want it then bring it on lol. Some like it others do not so the ones who do not like it do not have to deal with it and those who want Simplr can have it. Simple :)

Jon G

Doesn't make much sense for a character with as many available, interested girls around him to have to resort to something like Simplr. And for random hook-ups, what you did with Josh and the bar or the Red Light District is much more compelling... just have Imre swing by and offer to drag MC to a bar downtown. Problem solved.

Jerry

IMO, the girls are too much in the game, really do not need to add new girls. I suggest only focusing on 3-5 girls as "major characters" and treating the others as minor characters. Yes, all girls have their supporters, however, too many girls only lead to no one getting enough scenes to shape her character and everyone feels the content is not enough.

Jon G

Yeah, if there's a weakness in Act 4 Part 1 it's that you didn't get to spend a lot of time with your preferred girl(s), many of whom are either MIA or only available during a campaign event. And the secondary characters you may not care about continue taking up screen time when MC should have the option of just not dealing with them and instead doing something else. Anything that provided more content for the 4-5 most popular girls (Chloe, Nora, Aubrey, Lauren, etc.) would be a huge improvement.

David Lizaria

Another point to consider is what other idea's you have for developing the game that can replace simplr. So is there some new system you guys would like to add but don't have time to or could it be replaced with something new just like we had fighting for the start. Could you for example add some sort of gameplay element different from the main game but adds to the experience which makes sense. Simple ideas being some sort of sporting activities. I'm sure you have plenty of ideas floating around so maybe look to them instead.

DavidT

chloes the only girl i need so dont need simplr but would love more interacting on the picture app

Exxaflare

For most AVNs we’re connecting and forming relationships with the important characters so content that takes away from that or limits that for meaningless interactions with one off flings seems like it’s just interfering with the core experience of the game. If the cast of this game was a lot smaller I could see it working but given that we already have a plethora of options in terms of girls without the help of an app I say get rid of it.

Jon G

Oh I definitely wish there was more choice in the plot. That's why I gave the examples of Josh and the bar (which MC can turn down flat) or the Red Light District (which while you can't turn it down, you can basically sit it out if you want). I'd definitely like options not to get involved in Amber drama, Samantha drama, Autumn anything etc. and focus on the other characters I do care about... but the topic was an alternative to Simplr and side content (preferably optional) tied into the storyline is certainly better than that.

Goobie

You're thinking of Being A Dik, lol

Goobie

I could take it or leave it, but if the MC isn't getting anything out of it to progress the story, outside of mindless banter with throw away characters, I feel like it should just be 'deleted'.

Jerry

The thing is u only have limited scenes, due to the workloads, and they had to be distributed to all available girls. Thus no matter how good the writer is, u can not satisfy everyone if u have dozens of girl available in the game.

LikItB4IStickIt.

Oops, you're right. Well, in my defense I do play over 200 under-active-development AVN's with typical update times of 1-3 months ea, I was bound to get plots, characters and locations mixed up sooner or later, especially when they are similar (ie college setting) and going from memory from 2 months ago (no time to play a particular AVN much more than content added after a new update).

Death_tous_all

id love for more interactions from randoms and maybe make them relationships meaningful some how unlockable chars or something in that lines like say one of them girls ends up being the mc's very first love and them talking rekindles a lost love and she becomes one of the top choices.. if nothing like i mentioned is in the works maybe keep it as a side project work on it if you have time but if more core dynamics need work focus on them first and slowly work on simplr thru a few updates if need be to improve it in the free time. Anyways great job to everyone working on the Project keeps getting better!

LeFaye

I vote no because from what I've seen, Steve and his team have grander plan and/or better spontaneous idea which he swiftly implement right away, as we can see with this update. Thus I voted no so we could see bigger up date like this.

LeFaye

Maybe at a later time, we could implement this Simplr feature as add-ons. Maybe as a fling only event? If it were to be lead into a meaningful route it'd take so much time and coding to integrate it into the storyline.

John nguyen

I’d say keep it and improve on it. While you can use it for single hookups, you can use it in a story with the ladies. Aubrey clearly should be on it, Ms. Rose could be on it for her own needs, Samantha’s clearly on it, Riley could be on it for her own hookups, Lauren could be on it to find test subjects, etc. It can also be story mechanic if Lauren/Chloe (as your gf) steal your phone and find out you have this app. Others can question why you have it when they’re ready and willing.

Scott Katherman

At the risk of diluting a great story to add, what? Varied sex with non-essential characters? No thx. You have created something here that keeps the reader's/viewer's attention, and Simplr simply doesn't add much, if anything to the ongoing saga. You have superb characters with depth - keep building there. Cheers!

David

I voted no, because no dates outside Emmy at the bar, which was not directly connected to simplr. Noted glitches: After Mr. Lee finishes his discussion about the Murder Mystery, I get a couple of random images before the view settles on the seating room. Following the Chloe path to different scenes about Lindsey’s mother death separated by a couple days of game time. Audrey’s dialog on the beach after MC’s picture taking. Audrey refers to going to change into a bikini and return the beach. Audrey is already wearing bikini and is walking on the beach. What is with the lengthy discussions about the spelling vigilant and the meaning of “PE”, they do not anything to the storyline.

Justin Weisner

I think I opened it a couple of times before in the beginning to see if we would get new girls to swipe or progress in the chats, something...but other than the one event in europe, I completely forgot about it cause it was useless.

Carperius

I loved the whole "vigilant" vs "vigilent" conversation as well as the PE thing. It doesn't forward the story, but it adds flavor to the characters and a little extra humor is always welcome. If the characters only spouted story relevant comments this whole thing would get stale fast.

Stephen

Personally I would say get rid of it. There's some many paths that very long drawn out and make you wonder if it'll ever happen, like autumn. I play a very similar college game on here where the sex portion is more amped up and a simplr app might have worked for them, but I don't think it fits in with the story line. UNLESS you're having it be girls from his college, vs right now they're girls from all over.

Ali Bertan Erten

Carperius. I agree with you on that regarding "vigilant" vs "vigilent" I laughed maybe a little to much on that, because I have done something like that a long time ago. I mixed up two words and everyone was laughing at me. But hey I learned something then lol :D

Jerome Kudrako

Bit late to this party but I would Agree in favor of getting rid of it tbh, and Honestly I feel like what little time that would go into it would be better served on continuing the story and the relationship with the girls rather then throwing more into the mix. :x one night stand throw ins or some side characters are one thing but I feel like you do a good enough job with those that we dont really need the app in there, Although I might be a bit biased due to the fact Im somewhat enjoying my Nora Loyal focus playthrough XD Keep up the great work my friend! :)
