A lot of you asked to see this one, so here it is! The Rifleman IIC.
I'll also tell you that you wont need to wait too long to see where this design is featured.
Does this cover all the IIC mechs? Or are there still more?

I had Marco Mazzoni redesign this one and as usual he did a great job. The biggest meddling I did was in the cockpit. We tried out a few of the more "robot face" style options, but in the end it was a committee decision to run with something more "typical" so that it's less polarizing to those without specific VMI nostalgia.

Came out looking great I think.
We've now got the Rifleman, Rifleman IIC, Lancelot, and Galahad for a big family of mechs.

LegendKiller used a non-standard Rifleman as an unexpected advantage in the Solaris VIII Gladiatorial Combatives for iirc a decade or more. Looks like besides weapon ranges, vehicle identification has taken “a hit” in the future. #FASA @catalystgamelab @webeharebrained @mitchgit #battletech

Orion IIC! Totem Clan Wolf mech

Steven Cross

There's the Orion IIC, Guillotine IIC but really they don't look much different from their originals, not really enough to count. And I like this, its a shame its missing its 47 gallon hat :D

Oh the Rifleman IIC... I'm in love. Great job my friend, great job 😍

Taylor Shead

Battlemaster IIC! Currently non-canonical but was featured in Mechwarrior 4: Mercs Mektek Mp3 Plz do that along with the Tenchi (a mech I would pay to be canonized) 😉

Alex F

I would love to see updates of the Commando IIC, Guillotine IIC, Orion IIC and Highlander IIC to bring them in line with the redesigns (plus the Orion IIC needs new art badly). This though is amazing work!

I’m mostly intrigued by your comment that we won’t have to wait too long to see where the design is featured. Could this be a new force pack like the B&N Dragoons box?

Scott

Clan mech.. meh. GET OFF MY LAWN! Mini looks cool though.

Lexikon

Do you mean as in plastic or featured as in a book?

Mark D Booth

Nice, can we please get a family portrait. Happy Thanksgiving

Kanrei13

Looks like the love child of the unseen Rifleman IIC and Galahad. I approve!

More then likely it’s in the IlKhan Rec Guide series and a new one gets released tomorrow.

So does this mean we can finally get rid of the old PP designs? Most of those were Horrible!

Nope. They were not just drawn into lore, but written into it. They exist. And looking at TRO 3055, 58, 3060, etc..not sure how they were any worse than...90% of what came before?

For some reason the proportions look off to me. The arms/gun barrels seem too big for the body and the sensor saucer seems off center. Looking forward to the 3D render on this 9ne to see how it turns out

I'd love to see an Orion IIC! Also I'm still hanging out for a Mauler. Although with the rumors of some Mercenary themed products coming soon, hopefully the poster child of Mechwarrior 2 Mercenaries will grace us with its presence!

Sapphirus

Oooh Badass! I like it! 3 more VMI Mechs to go! (The Comstar trio (Nexus, Raijin, and Grand Crusader)

Clint IIC, Orion IIC, Wyvern IIC, urban mech IIC, commando IIC, highlander IIC, and Guillotine IIC are the IIC mechs left that are appropriate for the time frame it seems you all are focusing on. However, in later eras there are even more that pop up. Ostscout IIC, Stinger IIC, Thunderbolt IIC, Viking IIC, and Beowulf IIC. You could argue that Phelan's wolf hound, "grinner" was also a IIC mech though it was more of a clan tech upgrade. MUL lists the wolfhound IIC though

Impressive work. That mech needed a lot of love and it has more details in one arm than in the entire original miniature. Congratulations!

Jarod DePastene

Ahhhh, yes. My favorite mech with a hat. :)

Peter Shah

I'm torn. On the one hand, it's a great concept and a clear improvement over the original. I really don't think I'd change a thing. On the other hand, I think I'm going to miss the strange, twisted look of pained surprise on the original "face".

Same I always thought the head was real cool suppose I could just convert this one to that with some free time

Ahhh! …the Longbow! THERE is an under-appreciated BattleMech! Having spent 23-years in the Army, enlisting as a Private First Class and returning as a Lieutenant Colonel from the Defense Intelligence Agency with duty on The Joint Staff for the last 3.5 years of my career… I can affirm that the acme of mass combat is both battlefield operating system specialization and Force Structure/Training and Maintenance Base. FASA had a real genius for War and Wargaming, and got so very much “more right, than not.” And that genius… for War and Wargaming? (I think they call him, Jordan.)

Robert Schuster

Love to see it. Always had a soft spot for this guy, and even though I have no plans to get rid of my original, I may just have to add this one whenever it gets produced.

Stephen “Prussian Havoc” Stroble

On my Rifleman Imgur Public post, Good @TFeak just supplied that it could be as simple and strait-forward as a Stock Rifleman “running #heavy” with Double Heat Sinks… the more I think on that, the more I really like it. : )

Chris

It needs moar dakka!

TIM STRAUVEN

Nice ! I was wondering how the "robot face" would be tackled. This being the 9th post-KS Clan Mech, I'm curious to see which will be the next one.. Highlander IIC ?

Now this. This I love.

David Razi

The barrels and ammo boxes(?) make it look like it's sporting ACs instead of lasers, but overall it looks great. I love the Rifleman IIC.

Dome needs to be way bigger on this thing and the cockpit glass area needs to be reduced so it has the cool "eye" again. The Glass Spider looks way more like a Rifleman IIC than this art. it's supposed to have a giant AWACS-style radar for shooting down airplanes with. It's not supposed to be wearing a little hat.

Maybe you'll find the dish to be sized more to your liking when you see the 3D of it. Though this one always had the smaller dish between it and the Galahad. We did have a "face" version of the cockpit, but this direction was requested. More offensive to the oldschool, more appealing to the new school.

You're right the 3D will give a better view. The Rifleman IIC is one of my fav mechs of all time so I'm only concerned because I care haha. Looking forward to the 3D!!! (Please don't make it look like it has a hat, please don't make it look like it has a hat... continues to mutter away to himself in the corner).
