Ink test for manga (Patreon)

I tried to use watercolor Holbein Ivory Black, Winsor&Newton Ivory Black and Pilot Seizuyou ink (not waterproof) for painting gray on manga paper. (I thought Winsor&Newton INK series Black Indian Ink isn’t waterproof but it is😳)

I feel Pilot Seizuyou ink is the best in them. Because when I use watercolor paints, I always use too much water and manga paper like this type of paper becomes wavy😱

Why the reason I started looking for gray color to paint on manga paper is too hard management of screentones and the prices of screentones! If I can find the good gray tool, drawing manga life will be getting better, using screentones is really fun for me though.

And also I would like to explain the watercolor effects on my manga page🥰

I have to try to paint gray color on a wider area to check the paper becomes wavy or not.
