I gotta say, as a One Piece fan, this is probably the kind of live-action adaptation every anime fan wants to get one day. Every change so far was done for a thoughtful reason. My favorite change from this episode was Luffy actually knowing what's going on in Whiskey Peak from the beginning, instead of having a huge, nonsensical fight about it with Zoro, like in the anime. I also hope the show actually continues to give us a more serious exploration of Zoro's drinking problem as a result of trauma, because in the anime it's treated more like him leaning into his pirate persona, or like a character gag, similar to Luffy's excessive appetite.
