Time to check out Spaceballs from 1987 for Malbread's first time.

In a distant galaxy, planet Spaceball has depleted its air supply, leaving its citizens reliant on a product called "Perri-Air." In desperation, Spaceball's leader President Skroob (Mel Brooks) orders the evil Dark Helmet (Rick Moranis) to kidnap Princess Vespa (Daphne Zuniga) of oxygen-rich Druidia and hold her hostage in exchange for air. But help arrives for the Princess in the form of renegade space pilot Lone Starr (Bill Pullman) and his half-man, half-dog partner, Barf (John Candy).

Besides the no merchandise rule by George Lucas he also said that Lone Star couldn’t look like Han Solo, so he looks like Indiana Jones instead. While this is fine, it isn’t my favorite Star Wars parody, my favorite one is Hardware Wars from 1978 which is a 13 minute short film in the form of a trailer.

The man combing the desert who says “Not a thing sir” is voice actor Rob Paulsen. When the four are in the temple approaching the statue of Yogurt the way they are standing is a reference to the Wizard of Oz- Left to right Lone Star (Scarecrow), Princess Vespa (Dorothy), Dot (Tin Man), Barf (Cowardly Lion). The man who had the alien burst out of him was John Hurt who was in Alien who had the chest burster happen to.
