Where Bluebirds Fly- What a lovely episode centered around Zelena!! Thank you so much, Tim! Another great reaction from you like always, my dear friend! I really enjoy this episode a lot. I love Zelena's sacrifice in the ending, and I feel that this episode, is definitely one of my favorite episodes centered around her!! Rebecca Mader is fantastic within this episode! Especially in the end, which I will come back to shortly... Zelena has been a bit frustrating this season, because she's been so undecisive and back and forth thanks to her confusion over who to follow and who to have belief in... Regina or the Evil Queen? However, I have ever since season five's episode, titled... Sisters episode in the end of season five, believed that Zelena just longs to be believed in and truly loved by her sister, and accepted by the heroes. And you see this through her actions, as she hasn't done anything wicked since. Even while she was under the influence of the Evil Queen. And at last... Zelena has proven to Regina and to everyone that she has truly changed for good! I love this moment for her!! :) First... My very favorite scene within this episode is in the beginning, between Emma and Killian, as Emma's making them pancakes for breakfast!! I love that she and Killian talk about still being surprised they can both actually be happy. Killian and Emma are absolutely adorable and wonderful together!!! And I love seeing them both so happy with one another now that Killian's home safe! And then... They begin to make love, until Snow unfortunately and completely unintentionally interrupts them by barging in. So adorable. And I love Snow's face upon her quickly realizing what she walks in on. So cute. :) Also... I really love how Emma and Killian are then kind of dragged along by Snow into planning their wedding. And I love seeing David's reluctance to do so. While his hesitancy to talk about what he is truly feeling about them planning their wedding right now might be frustrating, I can certainly understand why he's struggling so much with conveying this truth to his loved ones. He's most likely unsure exactly what it is he's really feeling himself. At least in full. Nonetheless... These scenes within this minor story arc within this episode are also funny and cute. I also love Snow's line to David... "If this is about Hook, get over it. That ship has sailed and there's a pirate on it." Very funny! With this being said... I understand both points of view from Snow and David. Snow believes her daughter's marriage to the man she loves will help to give Emma strength, and everyone in town hope. Whereas David fears the Black Fairy will ruin his daughter's wedding for her, like the Evil Queen had done on their wedding day for them. Thankfully, in the end, the right decision... to wait, is made. But Emma also really loves Killian, and he loves her. They want to be married. Especially in case the Black Fairy does succeed, and Emma is to be killed. Next... I really love Zelena within this episode so much!! Especially in the present day storyline, in the end! I love two sides of her... Both as hero and as the Wicked Witch. As for Zelena's present day storyline... My only dislike in this episode for Zelena, is that she constantly keeps going on and on about how she's so much more powerful than everyone, and yet her arrogance leads to the Black Fairy getting the better of her by using Zelena's magic against her and everyone so that she can begin the final battle. I mean... I know that this is the biggest flaw in Zelena's character... Her need to be the best because she truly wants to fit in among the heroes and into her sister's life. Especially after having failed to be there for her old friend as she should have been. Zelena kind of just makes me a little angry because of her stubbornness and refusal to listen to anyone, least of all her own sister. However, this is also why I love Zelena within this episode so much, and why this is one of my favorite episodes for her character. Because in the end, Zelena learns from her mistakes at last, and does the right thing when she beautifully sacrifices her own magic in order to protect her sister and their friend, and to stop the Black Fairy. Which for now... She's absolutely done. And my second favorite scene within this episode, is when Zelena sacrifices her magic. Finally, for the sake of everyone else. And in so doing, she not only stops the Black Fairy for now, but her selflessness is seen by her sister. And Regina is finally able to forgive her for everything. At last... They are truly sisters and I love it!!! It is a beautiful moment!! Oh... And I also love how Regina promises her sister to look after Robin should something happen to her, as well as Emma telling Zelena that her daughter is family. One of them. As is Zelena at last!!! So sweet! As for the Back Fairy... Her plan within this episode is quite clever, and this episode shows just how powerful she truly is. I love her in this episode!! Her plan to use Zelena's weakness against her is brilliant!! However, Zelena in the end has thwarted her plans for now, allowing for Emma to awaken the Blue Fairy from her coma using the pixie crystal from the mine. And the Black Fairy isn't happy. Also... We learn that Blue knows the Black Fairy's darkest secret behind why the Black Fairy had given Rumple up. And she does not want Rumple to know it. The plot thickens. :) Now, as for the past storyline... I don't really care too much for it. I see why it's necessary of course. Because we needed to learn how and why the glass heart that Zelena comes to use to destroy her magic with, would come into play within the present storyline. And it also shows more of Zelena's weakness, as she yearns for a friend. And yet her stubborn pride makes it so that she loses her one friend in the end upon him becoming a man made of tin after she refuses to sacrifice her magic for him. And as for the Tin Man... I think that out of Dorothy's three Wizard of Oz companions' story arcs within Once Upon a Time, the Tin Man's story within this episode is easily and by far the best one, given that he is given a whole one episode story arc for his character. While both the Scarecrow and the Cowardly Lion are sadly wasted, and are very weak within this show. Yes... The Tin Man is given a proper story arc, but this overall backstory for him and Zelena is pretty weak in comparison to the rest of this episode. I just am not too impressed by the storyline. And as much as I love the Wicked Witch... I just feel like her past is no longer a storyline we needed to revisit anymore. This storyline for her is a bit on the boring side. Overall... I really enjoy this episode a lot!! It's really good, and I'm just so happy that Zelena and Regina are finally sisters at last!!! :) Thank you again, so much, Timothee! Sincerely, Heidi
