Across the wounded galaxies, we intersect, poison of dead sun turning to kerogen in Mr. Cheney's brain.

That is a very cursed picture you chose for this one! I feel the vibrations from it through the phone screen.

Thanks for the quick rundown on Lacan. I've bounced off his impenetrable writing before but the way you explain it is the intuitive understanding of being alive. Like, Calvin and Hobbes did a comic series about Calvin intensely desiring a propeller beanie and the crushing - but passing - disappointment in yhe beanie not living up to his desire.

Mike, I know you never reply to these comments (even starting it this way I’m sure your eyes glaze) but as a newer sub to the paytch, you’ve had a large influence on my thoughts and interests, even starting gravity’s rainbow as a lit lover (yet simple brained man) and committing to finish it before my next child is due. You help fill my mornings when I’m waking up at 6am with my first kid to get ready for the day, and when I going to work my shit job that’s an hour drive away from home from my wife and kid, all this to say, very little do I feel like I can connect to another mind about art and what’s going on in the world (I work in Hollywood as context lol) and just humor even. All that to say, thank you and do please take care of yourself as much as you have the energy to, I also know how it feels (not exactly of course) to have your mind not match your brain and outsides. I don’t know ya but I do love ya bud. Thanks for every upload. Sorry to be sappy.

Hey Mike, as someone who enlisted in the infantry in late 2000 and went to Afghanistan in the first wave after 9/11, your teacher was absolutely full of shit. When my unit deployed they split us up: half went to Uzbekistan and half went to Kuwait until we ultimately met up in Kabul. No one including the officers knew what the fuck was happening at the time and we were active duty.

The latest Kathryn Bigelow turd to have dropped via the rectum that is Netflix is *very* relevant here, although I don’t recommend watching it unless for sarcasm/criticism purposes. Total COG nuke porn, stupidly delivered.

i've been in 2 orgone accumulators (one in Burroughs apartment in the Bowery, and one in the Wilhelm Reich museum in Maine) and i'm still chronically ill and sorta gay, so i wouldn't bother

One of my earliest memories is "freedom fries." Freedom toast, freedom onion dip, freedom vanilla ice cream, freedom poodles...

Enjoying your show very much, Michael. However, I do miss your professoral talent being applied to some of that literature. Any episodes on the horizont with a literary work as its subject?

Thanks for reminding me how important The Mars Volta and At The Drive-In are.

This is Pharmacist

This. Is.the. BEST Death Corner ever done, it is so good it's beyond any of the best that came before. And I can say that with conviction because if I don't then I can't convince myself the preceding episodes were not as good and that would be bad and I wouldn't be able to enjoy this episode as much. Oh wait... There's another episode coming so I can't compare it, it might be even better...Dammit.

Chris Ryan

I agree that this is some of the absolute finest work you have ever done and I have listened to pretty much every damn episode. You’ve been particularly on fire for the past several months. Especially considering that there are other people in your lane now, it’s very impressive that you doggedly continue to fight through the pain and put things in a way that only you can. I have come to really love Fourth Reich Archaeology, for instance, but they could never and will never do something like this.

Jill McCarthy

Phenomenal stuff Michael... Immensely grateful for you and this podcast during these insane times ❤️ it breaks my heart to hear the pain in your voice but it echos the pain in my soul. It's a rough time for those of us who just fucking care x

Soooo tired, all I can think of lately, like some sorta defense mechanism or something, or maybe even some kinda mantra, comes from the late great David Berman with his lyric “the end of all wanting is all I’ve been wanting”. Again, and again, and again… all I find is the desire to reach an end of all wanting, thats all I’ve been wanting…

Amazing episode! Excited for vol. 2 :)
