Well, folks, I had a guest lined up for tonight (to post on Sunday), but it looks like I'll have to postpone that interview, and I still feel bad that the last Q&A got all electronically mangulified, so THIS is yr chance to post questions for a Q&A show on Sunday.

God stress yr technique,

MSJ

P.S. If the answer to yr question on the last episode was rendered indecipherable, feel free to axe again.

What I could make out of your guitar advice sounded good mind giving a more audible recap and what songs you think are essential for a guitarist to learn? Also curious what are your top must see films ?

Biels Nohr

I would like to hear you elaborate more on Joyce using "word chords" in Finnegan's Wake. What are those and why does Joyce use them? Also seconding the must-see films request

I haven't listened to the entire back catalog yet, so forgive me if you've already covered him, but at some point you said you could do a whole episode on Ted Kaczynski. Have you read "Industrial Society" / what do you think?

Would be interested to hear your thoughts on Robert Anton Wilson, the Illuminatus trilogy and the discordian ideas behind things like “Operation Mindfuck”. Which from my limited perspective seems to have been quite successful, lots of pretty fucked minds about right now etc.

Thoughts on Heidegger's later thinking on technology (Zeit des Weltbildes; das Gestell), perhaps in relation to Pynchon's Raketen-Stadt?

Tom Kern

interested to hear your thoughts on Bolano's The Savage Detectives and it's relationship to Latin America history, US backed coups, Nazis and art

Did you read VALIS? What do you think about Phillip K Dick’s real life stuff he said was going on in his life while he was writing it? Did the empire never really end?

Brotendo

Thoughts on the story that “modern art”/“abstract expressionism” or whatever was CIA? The intentional burying of political messages in art?

DM

Thoughts on secret agenda by Jim hougan and/or his writing on Jim Jones

EB

I'd be interested in hearing you talk about Paul Celan.

Biels Nohr

I know I already asked one, but I take it you've seen Eyes Wide Shut? Do you know anything about institutional sexual assault in Hollywood? Kubrick (allegedly) went as far as to say the world is basically run by perverts and pedophiles. Where would I even go to learn more about this without getting killed?

Jonathan Schultz

In your writing you mention various stars, can you speak a little about the significance of these stars, and the ways in which they are imbued with or have come to represent personality or valence?

Quentin Roberts

All these goddamn earthquakes (the last of which was 3 minutes ago) have been centered in Ridgecrest CA, directly adjacent to China Lake, the gigantic navy base. Are those fuckers doing underground nuclear tests or something? Or is Los Angeles about to become the Escape from LA prison island it was always destined to be?

Rereading nightwood I came across this passage, “she stayed with Nora until the mid-winter. Two spirits were working in her, love and anonymity. Yet they were so “haunted” of each other that separation was impossible.”, and was immediately reminded of hauntology, though nightwood was published 60 years before. Was wondering what, if any, specific precursors hauntology has in philosophy, or if as usual Djuna was a genius and beat Jackie to the punch by a half century.

And/or, if you wouldn’t mind going over your answer to my question regarding machine learning from the last qna it would be much appreciated.

I'm in the middle of Gravity's Rainbow and digging it. Given that I'm in my 50s and death is literally just around the corner, should I use whatever precious reading time I have left to tackle Mason & Dixon? Or would I be better off with another Pynchon novel (already read Crying of Lot 49 and Vineland a long time ago).

Brotendo

Not really a question but you mentioned Winding Refn earlier. You have to watch his new show Too Old to Die Young. There’s a LOT going on in it that I think you particularly would find interesting. Only watched 4 episodes so far but it’s good.

Mike Bilbe-Taylor

I'd like to know if I have missed your episode on linearity and cyclicality or if it is still forthcoming? For my mind, your last full GR post was 99 (totality/infinity) with 108 being a bonus post on the plot of GR. Thanks for your work it's truly awesome.

DM

I know I missed the cutoff submitting this for a later date; Terrence McKenna totally full of shit randian or something else? Also the PKD exegesis and or Emmanuel carre’s work.
