So just for a quick explanation, when they were showing the new characters they had their names, the church they are a part of and the level they are on in their pathway, for example Leonard had 'Midnight Poet' and Dunn 'Nightmare', so to explain how it works, their church, Evernight Goddess has 4 different pathway potions, one of them is the pathway Leonard and Dunn are, Leonard is level 8 and Dunn level 7, so if Leonard will drink the next potion in their pathway he will become 'Nightmare' but to do that he first needs to 'digest' his current potion, and btw since Dunn is one level higher he can do better everything Leonard can and can do more stuff the other can't

And one more thing, they have potions for 4 different pathways but as Dunn mentioned for the Seer pathway they only have potion level 9 nothing else, so even if Klein will 'digest' his potion they can't give him potion level 8 because they don't know what that stage is, every other pathway they have they own more than just level 9 that's why Klein choice was weird
