Update! Character Polls + more (Patreon)

they're back baby!

after i regained my desire to make art since the end of august and finally delivered the comms i had still on my to do list, i spent some time thinking about what to do next. comms will stay as an important source of income for me, but i don't want them to be 90% of my work. then after pondering about finances i realized that the amount of support from you guys here is comparable to a commission. that's when i thought of bringing back character polls, but with a different approach that goes as follows:

1) the poll will offer 5 options and you're given multiple votes like in the past. the character with the most votes will be drawn by me, BUT the one with the least votes will be removed from the pool of characters you see below.

2) a new character will be added to the pool by me based on suggestions from you. to make an eligible suggestion you can reply to the latest poll post or use the #catwalk channel on the discord server by giving the name and franchise of the character (for example "Carmelita Fox from Sly Cooper")

3) a poll will only be held if the support from the previous month had reached 160€! the 2nd place character will be drawn as well when reaching 320€ and 3rd place will also get a piece when reaching 480€. these thresholds are based on my current average commission cost, so they may change in the future!

at it's core this approach is crowdfunded art but with a poll system attached to it which has a mix of RNG and democracy, with the selection of 5 characters being random, but the character pool and final choice representing what most of us want to see.

i hope i thought this new change through well enough, so that this is not just good for me, but also a fair and fun experience for everyone else involved. now there are a few more things i wanna quickly mention, which are further plans for the near future:

MEGA Cloud Drive
i plan on filling a cloud drive with my art not just as an additional backup, but also to make my art more accessible. social media platforms can't be trusted as they occasionally throw us harmless perverts under the bus and pages like patreon (while they do have a tagging system) make updates to their UI that require you to scroll and waste more time imo. so in the future i may start including links in my posts to that drive which are also gonna be split based on the tier system. (sketch post links leading to my sketches folder and art post links leading to my finished art folder.)

Subscribestar.Adult
after checking on it a year later it seems like i can finally link my bank to subscribestar, now i only have laziness as an excuse to not set up my page there. the benefits i'd offer there would be the same as here, but potentially without the discord access (the patreon bot and substar bot don't work reliably together when assigning roles iirc). though since the same poll can be held there as here you would get the additional benefit of having double voting power if you'd support me on both platforms! the page would also serve as an option for generous people to give me more money or as a way to give me a tip for a commission. i'll make an anouncement when it's ready!
EDIT: after checking once more i must admit i misunderstood what i was looking at. i'm still required to have a CVC/CVV, which isn't available to me atm. i'll have to get that sorted out at a later point once more.

Adoptables
for many months i have thought about making adoptables part of my career, not only as a way to reduce the amount of comms i'd have to do, but also because i have a primal habit of randomly creating characters and never doing anything with them. might as well turn that flaw into a strength. so in the near future i wanna give it a good shot and scratch that character design itch i have occasionally.
EDIT: after trying to design a few characters with the specific purpose of selling them i realized that even then i have a very hard time to seperate myself from them. i get too attached to my own creations. so for the time being adoptables won't be on the menu.
