I've got a gut feeling that Kattajak's idle musings coming true would have saved everyone involved a lot of problems.

Kate P

Prepare to perform gender!

BittyByte

perhaps the females of the enclave perform a special role during the festival? that or nark's gonna get on her about eggs

ContaTM

He has such a gross vibe, eugh.

Keileon

I certainly hope we eventually find out why Kass and Narklet look *quite* similar. :)

Vicroc4

Narklet is such a sleazeball and I for one would love it if he pushed Kattajak just a little too far.

ArcadeDragon

Excellent timing, Kass is in the perfect mood to be lectured/threatened by some smug ratbird on stilts. I hope hes smart enough to it out of strangling range.

Charlie

Well! Time for a rat to learn what "Diplomat" means. It certainly doesn't mean "someone I can dictate terms to and force to obey, or interrogate privately."

NineTailSymbologist

For some reason, I get the feeling a conversation with Narklet may lead to the strangling of others, like Vizlet.

Vet

When dealing in diplomacy it is best to say little and listen much. She should've kept her mouth shut.

Russet

Reminder that Brakka accidentally taught Kass how to throw a ying punch.

Russet

Assume the position.

Finvaara

Oh look, it's the worst guy. I'm impressed that he has managed to make an enemy of Vizlet. I wonder how safe he really is

Golnor

I am happily remembering that Kass's two bodyguards have significantly greater reach than humans or yinglets, and likely cannot be stopped by any yinglet-built wall.

DocBones

"With veiled zhreats, to be clear. I've been practicing zhem, I'm pretty good at it now."

The Lonely Sand Person

N = Vh N = Narklet's lifespan V = Vizlet's desire to avoid a schism h = Vizlet's hope that the council of elders can ever shift to a more liberal viewpoint

Raan

wow, when I read that last panel, it immediately made me remember that time when Kass strangled those 2 yinglet guards

Matthias Preissl

Right now, Viz is thinking about the concept of diplomatic immunity and that Kass could probably kill Narklet and get away with it.

johnny_vulpine

Oh-ho-ho, I get the feeling Narklet is gonna push buttons that he's gonna end up regretting.... Provided Kass lets him live that long.

Jacob P

Man do I love how all this is getting set up. Maximum tension for security. Stuck up rules enforcer who can't back down. Our main character who will never fall in line to such a creed. Flanked by two apex predators of this world. And hailing from a well run fortress city state. This can't go well. It will be glorious 😎

Vet

Oh did not know. Sorry. My bad!

Panther

The last panel frigthens me some ........

Lurk

Vizlet here desperately trying not to take up the trade-master's offer on foreseeing a certain future... A future with an unfortunate "accident" happening to a certain someone. Accidents really do happen all the time, it would be terribly unfortunate!

ComicTF

It just occurred to me that I love all of these characters so much Val and I think that is a testament to your writing. (Except Narklet. Fuck Narklet. Vizlet could snap her fingers and no one would ever see Narklet again.)

Fetchbunny

I think he will come to realize just how not a yinglet Kass was. More developed mind and more aggressive way of doing thing thing including talking and fighting. Not that Kass has to worry with the two strongest in town backing him up.

Krahazik's Shipyard

Especially to Yinglets, they seem to be rather accident-prone a lot of times.
