Yassss rebuild identity! That's the good stuff

John C Butler

The poor guys peeking over the bank. That's probably some of tfe best Yinglet vittles they've ever seen or smelled and they ain't getting none of it.

Charlie

VERY diplomatic! I wonder how they adjust for flavors, if it's all slime and swallow with no chewing? I also guess "crunchy" foods that humans love to fry up would be kind of weird, huh? Wonderful analysis in this update, LOVE so see Kass learn more about him/herself!

Ngrasta

Mmm good

Finvaara

We really need the flashing red lights and a counselor here kind of immediately. These are levels of analytic disassociation and dysphoria previously thought impossible and I fear greatly for Kass's life.

Vet

Happy tummy signals to brain happiness. I like the two peeking over the top. Toss them a tidbit. Good for ambassador stuff.

Vicroc4

Oof, Kass. I get it, everything just feels wrong. But hang in there, every day you're alive is another day closer to figuring out what the fek happened and possibly how to reverse it.

Vicroc4

Yeah, unfortunately they haven't figured out the whole "mental health" thing yet.

Deor

A salty sample of slimy meat by tongue tethered to a tarnished self, loving and hating this horrid life in equal parts. Every passing of sun and moon seems to melt off more personhood—a man no longer!

ContaTM

Really strong of him to manage a diplomatic smile after that thought process, though I guess the food induced brain-chemicals helped.

Gregory

The dysphoria is inevitable but it would certainly be more manageable if Kass was less specist. Like, "this is food I would have hated before" is an entirely valid point. "This food is for animals" is really not. In general they've leaned more anti-yinglet since the change, it seems like, probably as something resembling a coping mechanism.

GreyHooves

Everybody loves Poak :D

Flora P-Stylianides

Oh yes, this is an *excellent* page. Heheheh, his snout! Rlly interesting to see that yinglet tongues are somewhat prehensile

kristian Kubar

"I've made pickled snails for you lady Kass" Kass: nah forget the snails are those livers? Whole livers? What animal are these from?

Deor

That's my take. Pre-transformation Kass seemed more chill with Yinglets than most humans. This specist streak feels like it has a lot more to do with Kass coping and projecting their dysphoria than their genuine feelings about Yinglets deep down

Raan

oh dear, a little bit of such introspection will set the perfect mood for Narklet's "suggestions" later

ArcadeDragon

This is exactly how I feel when enjoying a slightly overripe banana

Avi Brandier

Amazing page! Unfortunate how zhe concept of "should" continues to rule Kassen's life

Mist

Man, if you wrote a novel/book that was nothing but character POVs with this sort of this deep physio-psychological writing I would buy it so fast.

ComicTF

Eat your slop, Kass. There are starving yinglets just over that ridge!

valsalia

It's hardly a new tendency amongst humanity!

valsalia

Between tasting like a vegetable and "I'll make banana bread out of it" (You never end up making banana bread out of it)

valsalia

Suggestion: "You should get into tabletop wargaming"

valsalia

"Actually these livers come from e vegetable"

valsalia

They'll get what's left over, thus the vulture-like looming

valsalia

Right before starting OOPs, I was DMing a TF-focused informal tabletop campaign over the internet. Wrote pages of pages of extremely detailed sensory, existential, and perspective-shifting narrative for the players. And then a couple months in I realized, "I'm putting in all this work and only like 5 people are ever gonna see all this stuff I write." Which was one of the many factors that got me to rethink my effort/output balance and look into trying comics again! I really could write a good 6-7 pages expanding on specifically and entirely the stuff touched on in this page, seriously. There's some stuff you can only convey via written narrative!

valsalia

Lil snakes floppin' around in that maw

valsalia

No longer a man; now, an idiot

valsalia

Ambassadors are always eating stuff at events, I'm pretty sure it's their real job

valsalia

Kass is an individual who knows the importance of giving props to the chef

valsalia

Now must rebuild identity entirely with legos

valsalia

Crunchy stuff is weird to swallow whole!

valsalia

Kass may be somewhat specialist, but consider: what if yinglets are goobers who smell

valsalia

Poak regularly cooks goodstuff for the common folk!

valsalia

That's called wearing a helmet, it helps the hammers from cracking your brain open

Mist

If you ever get around to doing more long form writing on the subject, I'd love to see it! At the risk of hyperbole I think you're easily one of the BEST writers I've ever seen when it comes to writing immersive POVs.

Mist

(and incidentally, if you still have those TTRPG campaign materials, it'd be neat to take a gander at those.)
