It was clear to me that Ran is a good person and has a heart all along, despite his eccentricities and /or perversions. And he has a variety of skills--that's part of what got him to the final five in my multi-franchise all-in-my-head epic space pirate gameshow! Also, lol at the punchline and heehee at poor Lopin.

I had been trying for some time to decide if Ran was just a rich butt-hole, but after reading the last panel I have decided - I like him. That sounds like something I would say. And people wonder why I'm still single........

Heh. Some people may be surprised about this, but I'm not. I grew up around enough scientist/engineering types to know that somewhere underneath the weirdness and assholery actually does beat a human heart - though it usually only manifests when the situation is genuinely bad.

Hmph..... "Scavs ruin everyzhing" ... I feel for Kass in zhis. In some ways I can see zhis moment as being even more sobering and depressing zhan ozhers, given zhe significance of Elim in Kass' life.
