Halcyon

Lopin's little smile is so pure. :)

Avi Brandier

I'd say Kass is overthinking it, but also, not many other options when the "it" in question is their entire 24/7(ish) existence

Ngrasta

eeeee so cute!

MysteryCryptid

Kass really is having a moment today

Super Shanko

Kass is once again overthinking it.

Flora P-Stylianides

Gosh! Lopin's so cute in this! Silly Kass, there's any number of reasons you might react such. Like. Maybe. Brakka's *attempt*. Silly boy

John C Butler

Kass has to make up for all the other Yinglets who under think it. Some of them don't think AT ALL.

Finvaara

Gender Dysphoria is fascinating, because it's different for everybody. Kassen needs like six therapists and a voodoo shaman.

Raan

so precious :3

Southpaw

She's not overthinking it at all. I mean, adult human male > adult yinglet female? You could spend your whole life trying, and never really adjust to that. But for Kass--one determined day at a time will beat that feeling into submission. Eventually.

Matthew Vandiver

Kass, when are you gonna realize the good thing you've got in that sweet, eager to please Lopin boy?

Comman 2020

Lopin is such a good oblivous boy, Also Kass if I was in a brand new body that was not the one I was born in I’d probably have the same reaction to being seen in my undergarments. Besides whether or not I’m also my original physical sex or not.

Autumn Minnchilla

This! Trauma can be hard to even recognize, my heart just goes out to poor Kass trying to process all this 🥺

Russet

"Oh no, my modesty!... Wait, what modesty? When did I catch modesty and how do I cure it?"

John C Butler

Kass has a quarter century of being Kassen the human. Even though he's stuck in a female Yinglet body with some STRONG Instinctive reactions, he still knows what he SHOULD be feeling and acting like. It's kind of fascinating seeing him impose his will on what is biologically a young female Yinglet brain. He's basically taking what should be a scatterbrained and flighty mass of nuerons and MAKING it work more or less the way his old hardware did. Atmittedly with some glitches. The emotions and instincts are powerful and overwhelm him in moments like this, but he's still able to batter them into submission and maintain control overall. And despite his worry early on that he'd slowly devolve into a "trash eating scav ," he seems to be maintaining a clear sense of self. It's actually kind of impressive how much of himself he's managing to keep under the circumstances.

John C Butler

My guess is it goes back to the moment he realized he really was a woman, at least biologically.

valsalia

Exactly one of these idiots is jolly at the moment

valsalia

His very own Matriarch thanked him!!!!

valsalia

He's like a golden retriever

valsalia

It probably won't be the only one!

valsalia

Simultaneously, overfeeling it

valsalia

It's clearly because Kass values her feminine modesty

valsalia

Lopin is worth exactly 7 dollars

valsalia

One Day At A Time is kinda weird on the new yinglet sleep schedule

valsalia

He vocalized a little feeling

valsalia

The Good Thing is probably not in his brain

valsalia

Having a jacket over your eyes helps in being oblivious

valsalia

It's a common but inconvenient disease

valsalia

That's a really good way of putting it, the whole "adult male human will fighting to enforce its will on a female yinglet body and brain chemistry" deal

John C Butler

That's the best way I could think to describe it. I took Kass Kass from your AU where Kass was born and raised a female Yinglet in an Enclave as Kassen's new body's natural biological inclinations which have been overwritten by Kassen the Human's knowledge and personality.

John C Butler

One might call it a "social disease."

Flora P-Stylianides

Especially considering the stuff he admitted to Vizlet. It's going to be a long, slow road to healing for him. I can't wait. it is actually going to be beautiful.

Flora P-Stylianides

Oho! So would you say it's canon that Kass uses she/her pronouns?

John C Butler

It really looks like Kass' pronoun usage is entirely conditional to the point that under "Preferred Pronouns" Kass would list: Not Sure/Dunno

John C Butler

Kass is a unique case because you have the memories and personality of and absolutely biologically male human slapped into the brain and body of an absolutely female Yinglet.

Flora P-Stylianides

I mean, he hasn't at any point said he wants to be referred to by anything besides his original gender. That's like, a major part of his character; 'he is man, but stuck in body ppl keep calling not man. Is he still man?' sorta thing

Finvaara

The Dysphoria is easier to see as a result, just like with soldiers who got wounded and lost their testosterone-producing organs and later experienced dysphoria at the physical and mental changes they experienced. It can be a lot harder to detect in someone who doesn't undergo a sudden change.

John C Butler

Well, there's the time Kass specifically asked to be called "Sir" instead of "Ma'am." But there's the acknowledgement in Kass' journal that "I AM a woman, goddammit." So things, even in Kass' own mind, seem to be in flux.

Flora P-Stylianides

That's true, he did say that. It seemed like more of a bitter retort than an acceptance though. And he did ask the lift guy to call him sir rather than ma'am because he'd prefer to be referred to as male, and because he doesn't want to be reminded about the state of his body. That's my thought process anyway.
