Today, I am speaking with linguist and enthusiast Fernando Franco Félix, known as Highly Entropic Mind online, to better understand and explore the Phyrexian language. We discuss written symbols and diacritic markers, Phyrexian phonology, and verb grammar, as well as other languages that may have inspired its design.

This was one of my all-time favorite interviews that I've conducted for the channel, and I'm enthused to pass it along to you all. I hope you find it just as inspiring and insightful as I did.

Enjoy.

This is incredible. The endlessly fascinating wells of language deepen again. Thanks to both you and Fernando.

Oh jiminies!!! I was just thinking that these interview videos would be a great perk on this patreon. There are typically snippets of interviews in the video essays, but I'm consistently finding myself wanting to hear the rest of the interview.

I'm just watching this now; only 8 minutes and 58 seconds in, and I'm close to tears. For the longest time I had a huge interest in linguistics: I loved english and old english, read a bunch about the work of Tolkien and the languages of Middle Earth and even spent a couple of months trying to teach myself norwegian (and I almost became an english teacher). But as time passed, I left it behind because of work and general adultish life stuff. This has rekindled my interest in such a strong way not only for languages, philology and history, but also for all scholarly things. Thank you so much Sam, you can't know how much this means to me. (edit 'cause I pressed enter by mistake)
