Abandoned Tower Data Pack Download (Patreon)

This is the data pack used in my Abandoned Tower Survival Series! It is compatible with Java Minecraft version 1.20.4. Also included is the required Resource Pack. See below for a list of features and other guidance!

- Abandoned Towers can spawn in most wooded biomes. They are about half as common as villages. They all share the same behavior and start the same way. They can be located with /locate structure abtow:abandoned_tower.

- Arcane Pedestals can be interacted with by right clicking them with the required block, indicated by their color. There's guidance for this presented intuitively via gameplay, or by watching the YouTube series, but for transparency, required blocks include: Block of Gold, Block of Iron, Block of Redstone, Block of Emerald, Block of Diamond, Amethyst Cluster, and Wither Skeleton Skull.

- You can unlock Arcane Pedestals in any order.

- The Kaleidoscope, sparkling Cake, and Sparkling Pond all lose their charge after use. When it is next that same time of day, if they are in loaded chunks, they will be recharged. This means they have a 24 hour recharge cycle, which does respect sleeping, but can be skipped accidentally if they were used during the night.

- The effects you can get from the Enchanting Table are: Night Vision, Absorption I, Fire Resistance, Haste II, Speed I, and Water Breathing. If you enchant yourself while you already have one of these effects, that effect will be removed, first.

- The Enchanted Spyglass needs to be pointed at specific hitboxes placed around the accessible locations. These should be spread around enough to be relatively easy to use, but you can also use F3+B to see those hitboxes to aim for.

- The Brewing Stand on the Nether Portal Island never needs to be refueled, and brews potions faster than normal.

- Abandoned Laboratories spawn in all Nether biomes. They are more common than Abandoned Towers, and generally should spawn somewhat near them, but can be buried within terrain. They can be located with /locate structure abtow:abandoned_lab.

- Contrary to the in-character theorizing done in the YouTube series, the Mysterious Armor has no specific advantage against the Ancient Lich, and is in fact, just kind of nice armor.

- When the Ancient Lich is spawned, a Thunderstorm starts and the time of day freezes. He remains until killed.

- The Ancient Lich has 350 health and 3 attacks to start with: Deathray, which deals damage to the player and greatly heals the Lich, but can be blocked by Blocks; Summon Minions, which summons three Zombie minions with low health, but only if there aren't currently any Zombie Minions present; and Projectiles, which summons 4 Skeleton Skull projectiles randomly around the arena, which shoot at the location of a random nearby player at the time they were summoned.

- When the Ancient Lich gets below half health, he gains 2 additional attacks which he has a higher chance to use than the previous 3: Curse, which gives all nearby players a random, negative potion effect, and teleports him to the center of the arena; and Darkness, which gives all nearby players Darkness and teleports him to a semi-random spot in the arena.

- The Pond slowly restores the durability of items in the player's hands while they are standing in the pond. It can do this for 10 seconds non-consecutively before losing its charge.

- The Lich's Staff loses durability while held, and also loses a lot of durability when its right-click attack is used. This attack deals a lot of damage but prevents damaged mobs from dropping loot (unless it one-shots them).
