As if you guys aren't my favorite reactors already, you sneak this show into your schedule. Well played.

Nate G

Noooo waaaay

Guston Zimasheen

What a pleasant surprise. Never watched the show, so will be an awesome 1st time watch-along.

Michael Chavira

YES!!! I've been waiting for this. It's finally here!

EdmanXERO

Better Call Schmitt! I've never seen "Breaking Bad" yet, so I'm not sure if I need to see that before this. :\

Chris Bruneau

Okay, Lfg!!!! You both are in for a great series!!!

Sergeant Pepper

Holy shit - didn’t see this one coming.

TBR Schmitt

You HAVE to watch it!!! Best show! I don’t know if it’s required watching for this show, but I’m sure you’d get more out of it if you’ve seen it! A ton of characters already from BB! -Sam

I would be interested in the reaction to this show from someone who didn't see Breaking Bad. For those of who have, we know some of the characters will survive no matter what happens, but others who aren't in Breaking Bad -- well, who knows? Dead, forgotten, moved on? Plus all the inside stuff like the origin of Mike and Tuco and others too.

Michael Chavira

Sam, I'm so glad you recently watched Breaking Bad, it will help out a lot. There will be MANY easter eggs, and not all of them will be characters. Some will be very obvious, and some will be so subtle that they can easily be missed. I look forward to watching this great series again with you guys.

TIMELINE: - Better Call Saul begins in May 2002. Jimmy McGill is 41 years-old. When we first meet him in the Season 2 of Breaking Bad, Saul Goodman is 48 years-old. When he's working in that Cinnabon in Nebraska, it's Oct. 2010. - Breaking Bad takes place between Sept. 2008 - Sept. 2010. Despite Breaking Bad airing over 5 years on TV, the story of Breaking Bad only takes 2 years. The pilot episode takes place on Walter's birthday when he turns 50.

Chuck is played by Michael McKean aka David St. Hubbins, the lead singer of Spinal Tap.

Hope you guys can do 2x a week on this one. A lot of episodes and tons of cliffhangers!!

Chris Bruneau

Dan & Sam, some free advice--rewatch BB episode Season 2, episode 8--the first appearance of Saul. Listen for references to his real name, Lalo, and Ignacio. The show runners sure made a lot of hay with a few (what was back then) throwaway lines of dialogue. I'm So happy you two are doing this series!!!

Opie Wan

I wonder if you will be able to limit yourselves to 2 episodes a week.

This is so awesome and so unexpected! I'm so excited to watch BCS with you! When BCS was airing, people kept saying how good it was. I was extremely skeptical, figuring it was just going to be a gimmicky spinoff. I didn't watch it until it came on Netflix. I'm not embarrassed to say that I was wrong. It is on the same level of quality and entertainment and drama and freaking everything as Breaking Bad.

I dont know about "better" than BrBa, but its for sure damn close.. Also the actor that plays Jimmy's/Saul's brother is the blonde singer from Spinal Tap :)

What a pleasant surprise you two 😁 YES!!!!! Just keep one thing in mind: DONT expect this to be breaking bad 2.0 if you go into it with those expectations, you might be a little disappointed. it's its own thing - slower paced, a bit less intense for the most part, but IMO more nuanced, top quality performances and beautifully written. For some, it's just as good as BB, for many it's better overall, but very different... Just see where it takes you and go along for the ride:D

Guston Zimasheen

Yes I've watched "Breaking Bad". Just never watched "Better Call Saul". Was on my list of things to watch but so many other things are on that list too. LOL.

Michelle Hoffman

I watched the first couple eps. Didn't think much of BCS. Stopped watching it. When season 3 came out. Gave it another crack. Now my fav serise of all time.

BigHawk

TBR Schmitt

TBR Schmitt

Yes! Did the first one as a stand-alone but will be 2x per week moving forward, as long we can! -sam

TBR Schmitt

Thank you! We need to go back and watch this! Although I just finished BB (again) I started during maternity leave a year ago! We could both use a refresh! -Sam

A little idiosyncrasy Jimmy/Saul shares with series co-creator Vince Gilligan is that he loves movies. In his introduction in Breaking Bad, he tells his clients to pay up front for his services by sending a Money Order for a specific amount to Ice Station Zebra Associates (his loan-out). Ice Station Zebra is a 1968 military/spy thriller starring Rock Hudson. Here he makes the famous Ned Beatty speech from Network (it's well worth watching BTW). These references are not plot spoilers. but it's fun to watch for them to pop up in episodes.

Will you guys be reacting to pt 2 of final season of Cobra Kai?It comes out Nov 15th

Will D

Put me in the camp of thinking BCS > BB. For me BCS was more enjoyable, certainly has more comedy aspects, but also rivals BB with some shocking moments/episodes. There is a character named Lalo, which I can't wait for you to meet. That's all im going to say.... :)

Robert Smith

No doubt there was fantastic acting in Better Call Saul but for me the writers and director took 2 seasons of material and stretched into 6. At times so very slow and repeatable scenarios.
