Daniel's finally on the mend! Thanks for bearing with us! It's been a rough couple weeks! -Sam

glad to hear--the flu is def. going around :(

Only question is, how many times will I watch this reaction since I tend to watch The Paper... PERIODICALLY! Hah! I kill me. What?

WhitneyG

So glad you loved it Sam 💕 So sorry it stressed you out Daniel 😅 I love ensemble casts with colliding stories like this, so while it’s chaotic, everything coming together is just perfection. So glad you all got to see it!

Nice reaction as always. I like The Paper, but the ending was a little too much of a "Hollywood Ending". There were so many spinning plates it put in the air it felt it needed to resolve- Getting the story right, Marty's baby being born ok, the kids being let go. I don't think all of those things needed to be resolved in the end. But that's a small criticism, and certainly the movie did a good job of showing the hectic life of a newsroom, being obsessed with a job over personal life, lots of background characters. , etc. Ron Howard gave his usual cameos to his brother (one of the newsroom reporters) and his father (one of the ER doctors who attends to Alicia). The next Ron Howard movie you need to watch is Parenthood - great ensemble cast like this one. Another good comedy/drama about journalism, and people putting careers over their personal lives is Broadcast News BTW, it wasn't just you with that audio problem- I noticed the same thing. I watched along on Amazon Prime and he audio muffled up and cleared up in the same spot you remarked on it, so pretty sure the problem is with Amazon, or the original movie.

Yes!! Loved the chaos!! Thanks so much for the recommendation! -Sam

I can understand where you’re coming from! Parenthood has definitely been on our list for awhile now! Glad it wasn’t just us with audio haha but Amazon needs to fix that! Glad it was still clear enough to not ruin the experience! -Sam

Nice that you are feeling better Guys !!! I'm very interested in this Film, never saw it but I'm a huge Fan of" All The Presidents Men " so this must be good ;) And please watch more Glenn Close Guys ;) Such a Great Actress ... I recommend " Fatal Attraction" from 1987 with Michael Douglas !!! For me the Best Thriller of the 80's !!! Soo intense and good

Unfortunately, that audio problem is with the master.

Hey, I’m back! I’ve loved THE PAPER since I saw it in the theater in 1994, which was years before my journalism career. Full thoughts on the movie at the link below, but the one thing I’d mention here is, yes, that’s what’s like. https://boxd.it/1W7QUf

First time seeing this movie. Did Randy Quaid play so many nuts, weirdos and conspiracy theorists in movies that he slowly became one in real life? 😆 Great editing and pacing, plus the camera work really made you feel like you were in the room during the most frantic scenes. Ron Howard can be hit or miss for me and this one is getting filed in the 'hit' column. I forget who selected this movie, but they made a good choice.

Weird, the link works on my phone. Suffice to say, THE PAPER gets a lot right about newsrooms and journalists.

Glad you are feeling better 😀
