Ellie Williams

I'm the MF who thinks you guys are awesome. Sir.

Matthew Maxon

Oh hell yes!! I've been waiting for this

Matthew Maxon

I was in boot camp when Iraq invaded Quwait & OBL got pissed that we had female officers & on Saudi soil. That's how it started. I had served 20 years & was in college when he got clipped. I couldn't have been happier when they got his ass. The list of his terrorist acts are MANY MANY! I was stationed in Spain as military police on 9/11 & remember it like yesterday. Rumor has it when they disposed of his body at sea, they first said, "Dump all trash authorized over the side." That's just a rumor though.

With The Hurt Locker, Kathryn Bigelow became the first female director in history to win an Oscar. I know I mentioned this on a previous reaction (the full-length post for Joe Dirt), but I'm still hoping we could get a poll of movies directed by women in the future. (In addition to this movie, since then, you also added Me Before You, which was directed by Thea Sharrock.

Robert Durant

Same here, after they watched Patriot’s Day this was the next movie I thought of that should definitely be on the list.

Andrew Patterson

The voice messages you hear at the beginning are the real voice messages left by loved ones in the towers on 9/11. Glad to see you finally react to this one!! Very well done detective story within the confines of a military movie.

Steve Mercier

One of the most morally horrifying movies ever...how fun! This movie is fantastic, but holy crap does it shuck the soul down to the crab meat. But you know, in a good way. Very fucking cool.

for a movie this is fairly close how the raid went down.. helicopter that crashed..people who got shot, time on target etc... and nothing happened to the team who did this. Red Squadron of DEVGRU did the raid and they are fine.. the only controversy is that the guy who said he shot bin laden is maybe lying about it...

Reed James

I remember this day when Obama announced we got him. Sunday. Just got home from playing D&D, and my roommate said there was rumors Osama was dead and president about to announce. Ironically, i woke up on 9/11 with plans to play with the same guys where I was DMing for the first time.

David Martin

I was amazed when I first saw this that they made it so suspenseful when I already knew the ending.

Chris Bruneau

This is a great film, and the final raid sequence was thrilling. also I read that the materials recovered at UBLs house were once referred to as "the crown jewels"--its never fully been made public what information was gleaned by that discovery. But one can only imagine the names and plots learned by the CIA. A colleague of mine who works at the Pentagon once told me "there were a LOT more drone strikes after that raid"

Think you'd enjoy Eye in the Sky if you've not already seen... maybe it can make it to a poll one day?

Saving Private Ryan should be your next War movie if you haven't seen it yet

Birdie Num Num

they've reacted to that, it was one the first films on the channel

TBR Schmitt

Yes, agreed! I think that's the perfect way to describe it! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

LOL so descriptive, and hit the nail on the head -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Wow, definitely a "I remember where I was when.." couple of moments! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Oh wow! I mean that makes sense, there has to be so much more we just never even hear about!

TBR Schmitt

Yeah that one has been the biggest headache to keep on the channel! Copyright issue after issue but it might still be on Patreon! -Sam

Matthew Maxon

i appreciate the support Sam. I know you meant it, and I do in my thanks. Its not an empty phrase. Thank you.

Matthew Maxon

there is a video on YT talking about the night he got got. There was only event happening in sports and it was pretty great watch to hear the crowd chant, "USA..USA...USA!!!"

Elijah Ramirez

Jessica's (Jennifer Ehle's character) death was portrayed in this movie as if it happened because she was overly excited at the prospect of a mole. In reality, the mole/doctor was already "trustworthy" at this point. The guy was essentially a triple agent. He was giving real information that led to actual results. The guy was playing the long game. So when he's coming in for the meeting, they waved off the usual procedures (for the exact same reasons as it was in the movie) and we see what happens.

Philip Alan

Yeah, it's still up on Patreon. Watching your older reactions make me laugh. For instance, during the Saving Private Ryan reaction, Daniel (who saw the movie already) loooooooved to narrate every scene (describing it) in case your eyeballs weren't working! Hahaha!! :)

TBR Schmitt

That makes more sense! That’s a bummer is was portrayed that way -Sam

Birdie Num Num

just wondering, is there anyway to get a community chat going? there are good discussions here, but they get quickly pushed to the bottom with each new post and sort of forgotten.

TBR Schmitt

I believe there is an option for that! Is that something you'd all be interested in?! -Sam

Love this movie. Pretty accurate but for the Kuwaiti club scene. I HIGHLY recommend The Looming Tower on Hulu. 10 episode mini series about the lead up to 9/11. Very accurate, insanely maddening, and overall just an amazing tv show. Would love to see you react to that one.

fallingupdownthere

Per Sam’s question about Maya being real or not, she was a composite character or a group of women in the CIA, namely one specific woman, who were hunting Bin Laden. That group, and the aforementioned woman in particular, are a big part of The Looming Tower which I again will heavily recommend!!!
