Schmitthead Monthly Movie Drawing - WINNER - July 2025

Comments

Edgar Gonzalez

TBR, ever think about allowing paid reactions on your patreon. I got a list I want you and Sam to react to brotha.

Yann Laliberte

Great movie! It's for movies like this that this drawing is for

Will Knox

Stalag 17 is a great movie! Hope you guys enjoy it!

Backlog Andy M.

Omg! Me and my wife's fav. We have saved on record. Brilliant 👏

Paul Cox

Woo! congratulations Wayne

Smooticus

Stalag 17. Great flick

Backlog Andy M.

Brilliant pick Wayne my wife approves 👍

Ashton Rice

For real. There’s a couple movies that I’d pay $$$ for them to watch

Ashton Rice

Since I’ll never win the contest :(

Edgar Gonzalez

I'm happy TBR has blown up...but one winner in a drawing of like hundreds of people is a long shot...easier to just pay to react to a recommendation.

Edgar Gonzalez

That way we get an awesome reaction, and TBR makes some cash on the side 😆

Keith Brown

Stalag 17 great classic William Holden won best actor

Tyler Foster

They have previously said they don't necessarily want to give any one user that much power because it's favored towards people who have more money. That said, this was before Reactr. Previously, the only way to have a request slot was to offer it on here, where someone could hypothetically just camp out month after month. Don't know if it would change anything given their previous rationale for rejecting paid requests, especially with the wheel working so well, but figured I'd mention it.

Edgar Gonzalez

I see, well I hope can implement something like that in the future. Thanks for letting me know dude. 👍

Florian Meier

It's a Classic !! Like it!! But soo close to Overboard 😞

Yann Laliberte

I agree with them. We would all like to see a movie in particular being reacted to. Me it's movies that nobody ever reacted to like Volunteers but giving more power to the bigger pocket is unfair and we should all learn to not get all we want.

Duncan

Congrats Wayne sir 🎉

Santiago Hardy

Due credit to all the Schmittheads who enter older movies into these monthly drawings. There's an absolute cinematic treasure drove of pre-1990s movies that you both have yet to discover.

David Wilkins

Good one! I’m surprised this the oldest one so far.

Paul Cox

Some reactors who offer paid reactions make them Patreon exclusives, which seems like a fair compromise for that sort of thing. If someone came through with the mindset of "I'm gonna pay whatever it takes to get this on YouTube," no prize for you.

Paul Cox

All that said, these two are so busy irl that they've cut their workload by half on the movie reaction front. Can't imagine they have time to react to niche requests.

Paul Cox

Not the oldest on the channel, but from the spin wheel yep.

Logan Kerlee

This one's a classic for sure! :) Exciting stuff. :)

Look out, Arbogast!

ooh, nice... is this the 1st Billy Wilder movie on the channel? If so, what an entry point to a directing giant.

Tyler Foster

Have Dan and/or Sam seen "Community"?

Jen Barnes

Congrats! These wheel pics sure are aces, loving the variety and quality!

Marcus Cato

I'm not 100% sure, but I think they have mentioned seeing it. In fact, I was kind of hoping people would recognize Luke Youngblood, a.k.a Magnitude (Pop Pop!), when he showed up in one of the Harry Potter films. What a reaction Community would be!

Roy Wright

Pretty awesome movie. Was one of my dad’s favorites. Y’all should enjoy

Marcus Cato

Much respect and gratitude to Wayne. Stalag 17 is one of my all time favorite movies. (And not something that a lot of people have reacted to).

YoureMrLebowski

Hearing the wishes of the masses, and responds. The Schmitts have one of the absolutely best managed patreon channels.

thebeefmaster

Oh Man!!! Did we get a good one!!!

ron clint

There are a TON of older movies waiting to get you hooked. Great winner!

Tyler Foster

Well, let's just say: Leonard likes this spin wheel winner.

24fps_

Director is Billy Wilder... that guy is incredible.. In his career he won 6 oscars out of 21 nominations.. Mostly known for The Apartment and Some Like it Hot

Sarah Butt

Nice. Good pick, Wayne!

Stephen Malloy

An excellent movie. You will like it for sure. There are some comedic moments but it’s a much more serious drama. You’ll recognize Peter Graves (Airplane, Mission Impossible TV series) in one of his earliest roles.

Birdie Num Num

Billy Wilder! I thought the day would never come! one of the goats! Double Indemnity and Sunset Blvd have lost many polls, but Stalag is a banger as well! thanks for slowly scrolling, nice to see all the picks.

Birdie Num Num

Interesting to see some outside of the box picks on there like Godland(2022) (picked by Brandon). Its been on my list for a while, looks a bit Herzogesque with some Theodor Dreyer mixed in. And God's Country (2022) (picked by Dave Sees Movies) with Thandiwe Newton, also been on my list for a while. google calls it a Thriller/Western.

Birdie Num Num

Stalag 17 is one of those old movies I've recommended to people who aren't into old movies over the years and it always plays well. Looking through the list it looks like Stalag and Night of the Hunter were the only picks from the 50s. None from the 40s, 30s, or 20s.

Birdie Num Num

some interesting trivia - with 75k Death of Stalin is the most viewed spin wheel reaction this year. In fact its the 4th most viewed film reaction period this year(after Borat, 13 Hours, and Trainspotting)

Marcus Cato

I had completely forgotten about him being in this! You will have to remind us when they get to posting it.

Tyler Foster

Would be nice to see In the Loop, another movie by the co-writer/director of In the Loop, and T2 Trainspotting (which I promise will not be as traumatizing as the first movie, and which is in my opinion one of the greatest long-gap sequels ever made, up there with Blade Runner 2049).

Birdie Num Num

I see you picked A Better Man? That's a surprising pick. Thought you always picked Blindspotting.

Jim Morrish

night of the hunter is amazing, saw it on irish tv when I was around 8/9 and it scared the bejaysus outta me, incredible performance by Mitchum

Martin7777

Have you ever considered starting your own reaction channel?

Wayne Kryka

Wow! Finally! Thanks! This is my favorite Billy Wilder movie.

John DiGiantomasso

A Stalag, in this case, is a German Prisoner of War camp in WW2, like The Great Escape.

dieselbeast

When they originally came up with this idea I thought there may be anywhere from 15-25 entries but I was way off on average it's always over a 100 entries wich means we all have less than one percent chance of winning lol I don't do it every month given the chances but once every 3-4 months I'll try my luck again

thebeefmaster

You might consider adding an annual payment option on Patreon, with a 10%, 15% or 20% discount. This is an option that many other reactors offer.
