I didn't find The VVitch to be all that scary, but it's a very well made movie and Robert Eggers is now one of my favorite directors. I highly recommend Nosferatu at Halloween

Hi AdrianF! The Witch isn’t random, it won our poll. We’ve also been very clear from the start that HP would be watched when we had the availability and it wouldn’t be a weekly thing as that would take over our channel, hence why we also haven’t started putting it on YT until we’ve been able to finish the whole series. Oooooooo... The VVitch is such an atmospheric slow burn of a horror movie. The entire cast/art direction and cinematography is perfect. Anya Taylor-Joy is just👏🤌 It's one of my very, very favorite films to come out in the last 2 decades. I hope you both end up enjoying it.🤞🤞

It does and it doesn't. The only post I saw explicitly about Potter was your reticence to even watch it; I didn't see the poll with VVitch, not end of world but it seems a bit out of character.

Out of character? We clearly stated our need to scale back on filming months ago so that patrons would have ample notice to adjust their memberships if desired. We also clearly stated that we didn’t want Harry Potter to completely take over all our available filming, which means we will squeeze it in when we can. We have normal job responsibilities on top of raising a toddler. We film as much as possible around our schedule and make content diversity a priority. So if you are unhappy with the frequency of our extra content, we are happy to offer you a refund. Thank you!

I hope the rest of Eggers' filmography follows suit after the Vuh-Vitch. They're all fantastic in their own ways and honestly fun to watch Willem Dafoe do his thing from The Lighthouse forward. He's even stated that any ideas Eggers has for future projects, Willem wants to be onboard.

I'd also like to mention that The Witch is folk-horror. It's not meant to be "scary" in the way most modern horror is, but more haunting, unsettling, disturbing, and full of dread.

Yeah, I'm more open to this kind of horror film than I am anything gory or jump-scary or torture-based. We're kind of in a folk horror renaissance right now.

Definitely. I like my horror to take its time, get under my skin, and leave me sitting through the credits completely stagnant. That being said, I won't say no to a Cronenberg film either.

Any ETA on Stalag 17? You posted Hot Rod reaction the day after it won the spin wheel(I get that was probably an outlier as to how quickly you react to poll winners, but it got my hopes up that it might post this week).

it really would be a shame to react to Eggers' Nosferatu before Murnau's version. I think Eggers would agree. Murnau is widely considered one of the best directors in the history of cinema. Cinebinge reacted to the Murnau version(and they aren't exactly the most diverse reactors around) Even watching it on your own would be preferable to watching the Eggers version first.
