An absolute classic. My parent's introduced me to this film 🎥 in the 90s.

It's probably too busy at this point in the year to veer off into an Audrey Hepburn poll, but maybe in early 2026 you can give it a whirl. Roman Holiday (with Peck) was her first film and she won an Oscar right out of the gate! My personal favorite is Charade with Cary Grant. It's the best Hitchcock movie that's not actually a Hitchcock movie.

Look out, Arbogast!

This is one of those "perfect movies" for me. The acting, story, score, etc. Knocked it out of the park in 1962.

You guys always do this...putting out something I very much want to watch just as I'm getting ready to go to bed for the evening. Stupid work! Stupid capitalism! Stupid necessities! Anyway...I'll be watching this tomorrow. Good shit!

Best Movie Dad of All Time: Atticus Finch Worst Movie Dads of All Time: Jack Torrance, Daniel Plainview, Michael Corleone, Lucius Malfoy, Dr. Evil, Darth Vader, Thanos This was the first school book that I didn't want to stop reading. I always went past my daily homework requirement. I can read! My lord Aunt Stephanie!

Weren't you guys ever kids, LMAO! I grew up in the 60's and 70's so I guess we were more mischievous and adventurous than you guys were! LMAO :) . Dil was awesome by the way!

This movie would have swept more Oscars (Peck did win best actor) but this came out the same year 1962 as the big winner "Lawrence of Arabia" did.

Here are some 1960's recommendations (one film per year)... 1960: Breathless 1961: One-Eyed Jacks 1962: Cape Fear 1963: Charade 1964: The Killers 1965: Repulsion 1966: Blow Up 1967: Point Blank 1968: Bullitt 1969: Midnight Cowboy

Yes! Roman Holiday!! One of my favorites ❤️

Dill was based on Harper Lee's childhood friend and neighbor, Truman Capote. Also, there was a cute exchange early in the movie Almost Famous when William and his mom see TKAM in the theater. William praises Atticus for being a great single father and Frances McDormand basically says Hold up, what about Calpurnia? She was caring for those kids too. Tons of references to this book/movie, now you might start noticing more. "Old" movies I'd highly recommend: The Best Years of Our Lives 1946 Stagecoach 1939 Double Indemnity 1944 Twelve O'Clock High 1949 ( Gregory Peck)

Alan Jones

See Gregory Peck in The Big Country (1958). You'll be glad you did.

Cliff Adams

As much as I adore every Robert Duvall performance, I think this one stands out as my favorite. Dozens of emotions from Boo Radley in a matter of a few seconds, with not one word spoken. Amazing!

John DiGiantomasso

The ultimate Gregory Peck role for me is General Savage in Twelve O'clock High (1947). Just two years after WW2 ended, it portrays a brilliant portrait of leadership, sacrifice, and trauma. Not a "combat" film per se, just about the men, how they react, and what they must endure. That said, great job on this one. I am teaching a class on character to military cadets next summer, and TKAM was on my list to consider showing. Watching it with you has convinced me to use it. So thanks!

James

great movie
