Edgar Gonzalez

Ok, let's see what we got... The straight story. Hmmm, never seen it or heard of it. But hey, if I like it, then just another great film to recommend 👌

Marcus Cato

I'm still waiting for some joker to choose something like Andy Warhol's Sleep to win the spin wheel. Edit: I haven't seen the Straight Story, but it has an amazing rep. Glad you guys are giving me a reason to check it out. Congrats to Brad!

Santiago Hardy

It's a solid choice. I suspect you both will definitely enjoy it.

Roy Wright

Never seen that movie. Love Lynch though

Lee N.

Congrats, Brad Bunch. 😊👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Marcus Cato

You could sleep for 8 hours during the reaction and it would be a great meta commentary!

Brad Bunch

I'm so anxious to see your reaction to this! Thanks!

Smooticus

Great movie. Hard to believe this was a Lynch flick, then again... Also Richard Farnsworth's last movie (bit of a sad footnote). He's the Sherrif in Misery and the assistant mgr/bench coach in The Natural and starred in a great little Canadian western The Grey Fox

Henry Graham

The Straight Story is such a good movie! Richard Farnsworth was dying of cancer when he made it, and thankfully he lived long enough to attend the Oscars the following year, where he was deservedly nominated for Best Actor. It's a wonderful swansong for him.

Stephen Malloy

I guarantee you will love this movie.

Duncan

Congrats Brad sir ,have never heard of the movie ,but after a quick search and read ,I will definitely be watching the reaction and really looking forward to it now ,Misery is also a personal favourite of mine ,so excited to check out more of Richard Farnsworth's work

Look out, Arbogast!

LOVE this movie. Technically a David Lynch film funded by Disney lol (Buena Vista). Just typing that out was weird enough.

Paul Cox

OMG the best!

Paul Cox

Yes, congratulations and also thank you!

Future Boy

I saw The Straight Story once when it was first released on DVD, and I loved it, so I'm not sure why I've never rewatched it. Here's my chance!

Tyler Foster

Ordered a 4K of this one a few months ago. Good opportunity to open it up. I'll try not to be too broken up by being six spaces away!

dieselbeast

If that does happen, they absolutely should not honor it lol it would be a collosal waste of everyone's time 😂😂

John George

Great choice, Brad. I think they're going to love it.

Matt

I love that movie so much, such a different film from David Lynch but one of my absolute favorites, will definitely be checking out you're reaction 😊

ED209

Lost the wheel again but we all won with The Straight Story. It' an incredible film. It's the one Lynch made before Mulholland Drive.

2026-09-06 22:00 Last month and this month I was within a few names of being chosen. Bummer! But congrats to "The Straight Story."

Synchronicity is off the charts on this one. I was literally just listening to a movie review podcast on which this film was mentioned. I have seen "The Straight Story" before but it was so long ago I don't really remember anything about it. When I heard it recommended on the podcast I thought, "Yeah, I should watch that one again." Then I come here and see this. So weird.

Guston Zimasheen

Congratulations Brad. Great pick and looking forward to their reaction.

Paul Cox

Ha! This is the first time I've ever looked to see how close I got because I've always thought "why worry about it?" I was two names away!! 🤣 Ouchie!

Mario

Couldn't you press Ctrl+F to search for the winners name quicker?

Chris Bruneau

Wow! I had never even heard of this one, so an interesting choice! Congrats Brad

Paul Cox

There was a request by a longtime patron (but not Schmitthead tier member) to be able to read the submissions.

YoureMrLebowski

Brad you will be introducing this movie to a lot of people.

Birdie Num Num

Richard Farnsworth(of Misery) was nominated for Best Actor for The Straight Story at the 2000 Academy Awards. He was also nominated for Best Actor at the Golden Globes, He won best actor award at the NY Film Critics. It is the only "G" rated film that Lynch ever directed. Guess its the only G rated film on the channel?

Birdie Num Num

This is the 23rd winner of the spin wheel(first one was also a Lynch - The Elephant Man in December 2023)

Jimmie V

More David Lynch!

Jen Barnes

Congrats Brad! I saw this movie once when it came out, but I don't really remember it. I do remember really liking it though, Richard Farnsworth is such a gem. Looking forward to seeing it again.

Toc

Cool! good one! You'll like it!

Mark Ultimatemusings

Congratulations Brad! I only saw this movie once. Can’t wait to rewatch it.

John Fitzpatrick

A G rated Disney film from David Lynch. Shocking!!

Mark Kelso

Great movie that nobody knows. Superior win for all of us!

Mario

I was talking about them scrolling through the excel sheet to find the winner's name. If they pressed ctrl + F, and type the winner's name, they would find it quicker on the sheet.

Paul Cox

Right. The slow scroll is so people watching can read some of the submissions.

TBR Schmitt

Woah no way!! Well excited you get to watch it with us! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

🤣 I’m sorry, Paul! You were so close! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

This is confusing me because I can’t picture it 🤣 -Sam

TBR Schmitt

On YT, tomorrow! On Patreon, trying for next week! I think we should be good to squeeze it in this weekend! -Sam

Guston Zimasheen

At least "Twin Peaks" is G-man (Dale Cooper) rated. jk

Paul Cox

Miracle on 34th Street predates the MPAA rating system by several decades, but it would probably have been Rated G as well.

John Fitzpatrick

I know. It's strange. Like when Scorsese made Hugo.

Max Rinaldi

Remember me how to partecipate in this, please.

Jim Morrish

straight story is great, love it

OddThomas

Can't go wrong with David Lynch (apart from Dune)

Birdie Num Num

And Hugo was PG! its hard to get a G, even most Pixar movies in recent years are PG. The Iron Giant, which came out the same year as Straight Story, was PG. I think Straight Story may be the only non children's live action film to get a G in the last 40 years.

John Fitzpatrick

I know. I was talking about Scorsese making a family film, compared to his usual fare.
