Pretty Woman (1990) First Time Watching! Full Movie Reaction!!

Comments

Edgar Gonzalez

Man, the romantic 90's classics! ♥️

Edgar Gonzalez

🎵 Pretty woman walkin' down the street Pretty woman, the kind I'd like to meet Pretty woman, I don't believe you, you're not the truth No one could look as good as you 🎵 Mercy Shout out to Roy Orbison! 💪

Chris Bruneau

This might be the perfect Rom-Com of all time! The chemistry between Julia and Gere is incredible. Also a shout out to Hector Elizando as the sweet Hotel manager, who has a few really nice moments in the film!!!

Chris Bruneau

I forgot to add something. I read long ago that the moment where Gere uses the jewelry box to "bite" her hand was NOT scripted! -- Julia Roberts' laugh and genuine surprise reaction was literally a magical moment where all of America fell in love with her. D&S; Go back and watch that scene again, its unforgettable :)

Paul Cox

I'll put in a good word for their reunion in Runaway Bride. It's nowhere near as beloved as Pretty Woman, but it has its charms. Notting Hill and My Best Friend's Wedding are her other peak romcoms.

TBR Schmitt

Okay wait, which came first the song or the movie! I was asking Daniel this LOL -Sam

Paul Cox

The song is from the 1960s.

Edgar Gonzalez

My boy Paul is right, the song came out first. 👍

Charles Davies

You need to watch Notting Hill for another Julia Roberts film!

Foggy

steel magnolias is fantastic, can’t recommend it enough!

Future Boy

"You're late." "You're stunning." "You're forgiven." My second favourite romcom of all time. You did my favourite a few weeks ago with When Harry Met Sally. Sleepless in Seattle next for the trifecta! People who don't get why reactions are a thing should relive a film they love with reactors who are great at what they do.

Lana Gorgeous

The Richard Gere movie to see is An Officer and a Gentleman. It's more of a romantic drama, and it is the movie that made him a superstar. Julie Robert's played in a bunch of other romcoms, but a different kind of film is her with Tom Hanks and Philip Seymour Hoffman in another great role for him in a movie called Charlie Wilson's War , which is based on a true to life person.

Dave Carmichael

Richard Gere actually plays the piano and he wrote the short piece he played in this movie. Also you have got to see Notting Hill.

Popcorn & Petty

She did another movie with Richard Gere called Runaway Bride. Gary Marshall was great with Rom Coms. I also really loved Notting Hill. Thats a definite must-watch. Jason Alexander played a slimeball so well that my hate for him carried over to Seinfeld. 😂

Brent bmc_comix

Loved watching this again with you! :) Gotta shout out the Princess Diaries films! Same director, Gary Marshall, and they really feel like spiritual successors to Pretty Woman. If you ever rewatch you'll catch some callbacks like the "it happens all the time" line. Not to mention Hector Elizondo and Larry Miller, Miller was the Stylist! 😊

Abel Salas Jr

Hector Elizondo has had a long career, but the movies i have personally seen him in and can recommend are “Valdez is Coming” (western Starring Burt Lancaster), the thriller “The Fan”, and the football sports comedy “Necessary Roughness”.

Alex

I love this movie. I can't remember the last time I saw this. I didn't remember Jason Alexander was in it or anything that happened. But I remember some things that she said that happened but I don't remember them from the film, I remember me saying that or wanting that or something. I wish I could remember what it was.. Oh I remember. I think this movie is at the core why I want to transform a woman's life. It's funny how movies can have an affect on you and you have no idea where certain parts of who you are are from. Anyway, Sleeping with the Enemy is the next Julia Roberts movie you should watch!

Ellie Williams

You know. They don't make movie stars like Julia Roberts anymore. She's actually been in a good number of forgettable movies, but no matter what, her on screen wattage is always off the charts. She's due for a hit movie that reminds us of that. Like Brad Pitt doing Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. And RIP Garry Marshall. Widely known as one of the kindest, warmest people in Hollywood. He basically launched the careers of Julia Roberts, Anne Hathaway and Robin Williams.

Philip Alan

I'm still shocked they both have not seen Seinfeld! CRAZY! If they have seen it, shame they both didn't yell out "GEORGE!!"

Brent bmc_comix

And Marshall created Happy Days, of course. Gave us the Fonz! Eyyyy!👍👍

Awww Pretty Woman !!! The Mother of 90's Rom Com ...Every Woman watched this Back Then :) Love this Film ... This was the Breakout Role from Julia Roberts, Richard Gere was already a Star... I recommend "An Officer and a Gentleman" from 1982 with Richard Gere (Classic Rom Com) and "Sleeping With The Enemy" (Julia Roberts) from 1991, "Flatliners" from 1990 (Julia and Kevin Bacon) and "Conspiracy Theory" from 1997 (Julia Roberts and Mel Gibson)... Fun Fact Morse Senior (Ralph Bellamy) is one of the Duke's from Trading Places with Eddie Murphy ;)

Florian Meier

"Overboard" (1987), Sleepless in Seattle (1993), "Charade" (1963), "Ghost" (1990), "The American President" (1995) ... So many Classic Rom Coms more to watch ;)

Look out, Arbogast!

My husband and I joke that this is the real "Bizarro George". Lives in LA instead of New York, no glasses, and forces himself on a woman after rejection instead of wallowing in Costanza pity.

Shehab Dawoud

Watch Internal Affairs if you want to see Richard Gere in a very different role from what you've seen him in!

YES!!! Please, please, PLEASE, please watch Runaway Bride (1999)! It was made 9 years after Pretty Woman (1990). It isn't a sequel or related to PW in any way, but the chemistry is still there between Richard and Julia! You will love it! The scene where Vivian comes downstairs to find Edward playing the piano in the banquet hall is really Richard Gere playing! He also plays the guitar! He started out as a kid playing trumpet and singing with his parents and four siblings, then as a teenager, he taught himself to play guitar and piano! He never had a lesson on either instrument! The piece he played in the movie is something he made up in the moment. Richard says that when he stays in hotels, he often finds a piano and just sits down and plays! He says it's usually just him and the guys sweeping the floor at night. As a musician myself, I would love to be a fly on the wall when he plays. He also plays the guitar in Runaway Bride! The Director, Gary Marshall, was the homeless guy digging in the trash in front of "Sylvester Stallone's" house, at the beginning of the film! I'll be submitting Runaway Bride as my wheel selection for the month, and keep all my fingers and toes crossed that it will win! The side characters are even better in that movie, too! Rita Wilson, Joan Cusack, Christopher Meloni, Hector Elizondo, and Laurie Metcalf are so awesome in the movie... you really don't want to miss it!

My first movie experience with Julia Roberts was in a movie called Mystic Pizza (1988)! It's set in the tiny, little town of Mystic, Connecticut, which happens to be one town over from where I grew up! Three teenage girls come of age while working at a local restaurant, Mystic Pizza. They filmed most of the movie in and around Mystic. The scenery is gorgeous, and it makes me miss home! My Uncle Brian actually made it in as an extra... he was sitting at the bar while someone is getting hustled in a game of pool! He said all of the actors were great, but everyone knew Julia was a shooting star and about to be the biggest movie star of our time!!! Such a great movie! I promise, you'll love it! It also stars Lili Taylor, Annabeth Gish, Vincent D'Onofrio, Adam Storke, Bill Moses, and Conchata Ferrell (from 2 1/2 Men)! A great Richard Gere movie is Unfaithful (2002), which also stars Diane Lane. It's a suspense thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat!

intothegrinder

Richard Gere movies i'd recommend... American Gigolo (1980) An Officer and a Gentleman (1982) Breathless (1983) No Mercy (1986) Internal Affairs (1990) Final Analysis (1992) Unfaithful (2002)

Dan Holmes

Please check out Notting Hill, hilarious and amazing :)

Jen Barnes

Another surprisingly great romcom is "It Could Happen to You" from 1994.

TBR Schmitt

So much chemistry and the dialogue is perfection! Thank you! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Love The Princess Diaries! I need to see if Daniel's seen it! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Ooh those seem like very different roles from this based on the genres! I love it! -Sam

Tyler Foster

I am about to watch this but I am aghast that nobody else seems to have mentioned that the movie being watched in one of the scenes is the great Charade (1963), starring Audrey Hepburn and Cary Grant, and it should definitely be on your radar for a reaction. Given the blend of genres it represents, I expect it could be among your favorite movies you've done on here.

Duncan

Very enjoyable movie and reaction ,I had seen it once years ago ,but remembered nothing about it ,so it was a fun fresh watch that had me smiling throughout. What I took from the reaction is that Sam needs to take Daniel for his first trip to rodeo drive ,also take 10 black TBR Schmitt hoodies for them to stock.
