Tyler Foster

Clicked on several options but honestly I most want it to be Dawn of the Dead (1978).

TBR Schmitt

You guys are the fastest voters ever!!!! -Sam

Felix

hoping for child’s play 2

Paul Cox

I agree with Tyler in hoping Dawn of the Dead (78) takes it, but I also voted Elm Street in the hopes you'll eventually get to part 3.

mikethemotormouth

Pushing for Saw 2 so we can get to Saw 3, one of the really good ones IMO

Santiago Hardy

Damien: Omen II is such a solid/slick sequel. I wish more folks knew about it.

Richard Maurer

Dawn of the Dead ‘78, Pearl, and Hellbound: Hellraiser II, in that order, are the best three movies on here.

Matt

I also have no life but am always running 10 minutes late

jjkcharlie

You guys liked scream, check out Behind the Mask: the Rise of Leslie Vernon.

Jeromy M

Pearl is the strongest of the three IMO.

To be able to watch full reactions to films and comment our thoughts is indeed the life. Im happily married and my wife knows I watch full movie reactions on Patreon while she works out or watches her crime dramas. We all have a life. We just like movie reactions.

Shehab Dawoud

I like Omen II but the 2nd best film of that franchise, and one that I hope you watch at some point is the prequel The First Omen (2024). It's really good!

Max Rinaldi

I was sure "28 Years Later" was one of the top voted.

Brandon Meng

Surprised 28 Years Later isn't doing better

Keith Brown

Good luck to the winner. These are not my cup of tea type of movies. Come October, for me, I will always go to my favorites, "Abbot and Costello Meet Frankenstein" and "Arsenic and Old Lace" to sit down and enjoy .

UNC

28 years later plz!!

Andrew Laxton

Even if it doesn’t win, you should definitely do the 2 new 28 years later films at some point

Louis Ferdinand Celine

that's one of those my brother and I wore out the vhs tape watching so much as kids...

Tyler Foster

I would just cut Elm Street to 1, 3, and 7. It forms a trilogy in a way. But I know not everyone wants to cut these franchises down.

Tyler Foster

The tough part with Chucky is getting enough enthusiasm for 2 (which is fun but pretty basic) and 3 (which is the weakest of the whole series) to get to the meat of 4-6 and then maybe even the TV show.

Tyler Foster

If Scream 4 comes in second, you should watch that one anyway for Hayden Panettiere. RIP. (And, bonus: it's the only entry in the franchise that doesn't belong to Paramount -- this one entry is Lionsgate instead!)

Stuart Radzinsky

Dawn of the Dead 1978 is such a god awful cheezefest. Do not inflict that upon them. That is just cruel.

Stuart Radzinsky

What did they do to you to deserve that punishment?

Stuart Radzinsky

'The Serpent and the Rainbow' should be on your list.

penoyer79

horror sequels are a dubious affair

Samolina Pilchard

Hope you guys react to “Return of the Living Dead” sometime. It’s sort of an alternate sequel to “NIght of the Living Dead”, but with a definite comic bent (but plenty of gore/horror). The original makers of NOTLD had a bit of a falling out- George Romero (the director) went on to make Dawn of the Dead and subsequent sequels. (Day of the Dead, etc.). John Russo (co-screenwriter) and Russell Steiner (a producer and played Johnny in NOTLD) went on to write ROTLD. ROTLD also has its own sequels but the less said about them the better.

Matthew Maxon

There is a difference between Horror and Gore. They are not the same. Most of these are gore and not horror.

MacGuffinStuff

This is one of the polls where I'm pretty stoked either way. Dawn is classic, there are two versions. That said, I'm not the biggest Hellraiser fan but Hellraiser 2 is the one I think defines the franchise, then again I haven't seen 90% of the movies because later they made SO many, wow.

Richard Maurer

It’s sad that Scream 4 is in second place - Money-grab sequels that pretend to be ironically money-grab sequels.

Richard Maurer

It’s best to stop after Hellraiser 2

Richard Maurer

There are plenty of movies that have both horror and gore, but when a movie is only one or the other they are still related. Gore movies are a subgenre of Horror.

Richard Maurer

A “Cheezefest” that has been influential on horror for decades and favorably reviewed by both Siskel and Ebert. Sure…..

Richard Maurer

Mostly, yes, but you can say that about any movie sequel. For all genres sequels are about 90% bad, 10% good, and 1% great.

Paul Cox

I think of horror as the category, and the different styles (gore, folk, slasher, psychological, etc.) as subcategories.

penoyer79

true, but horror is the subject of this thread.

penoyer79

Nightmare on Elm Street 2.... it's only good because then it allows you to watch 3 which is arguably the best of the series.

Richard Maurer

As someone who is new here I was pleasantly surprised how this poll turned out. The best film (DotD78) won, and Pearl came in 4th but was only 7 votes behind the 2nd place film. I wish the other reaction channel I belong to had polls, and results, this good.
