I’m not the biggest James Wan person, but for some reason the first Insidious just gets me. I remember the first time, pressing pause during a conversation to see how much time was left and there was 40 minutes and I remember I couldn’t have been happier knowing I still had so much of an amazing horror film to watch.

The dreaming aspect is what makes this movie so creepy to me. I have had lucid dreams. It's a mixed bag in my opinion. Usually really fun, occasionally scary. My first one was terrifying. I fell asleep reading The Art of Dreaming, Carlos Castañeda, long story short, I didn't do that again for years, until the pandemic, I was sleeping so much I guess lol, I started having them almost once a week. But there's that warning in the book too, dreamers shine a little brighter to someone watching.

I've seen the first 4 and have enjoyed them with the first being my favorite. Each sequel isn't as good as the previous but they're not bad. I haven't seen the 5th or 6th ones but will this month.

There are 5 movies in the Insidious universe. Including 1 that tells the backstory of how that medium and the 2 guys helping her investigate get together and form their team. I like the series overall.
