Let the Right One In (2008) First Time Watching! Full Movie Reaction!!

The vampire trope is littered with behaviors, restrictions, capabilities. That's part of what makes it interesting. But most of them are extremely successful in getting all of the blood. In "The Hunger", the true vampires (as opposed to humans converted) suck the entire bodily fluids from a human in one fell swoop, until all that's left is a dried out husk. Great fun!

SPOILER ALERT for the fate of Oskar and Eli. John Ajvide Lindqvist, the author of the original novel, wrote a short story sequel called Let the Old Dreams Die. Set decades after Let the Right One In, it reveals that Eli turned Oskar into a vampire and they remained together as companions.

The author wrote a book of short stories called "Let The Old Dreams Die" and one of them skips ahead (I don't remember how many years) dealing with Oskar and Eli's future. And fantastic reaction. Glad you liked the movie.

They definitely got creepy/spooky right with this one.

I haven’t watched this since the theater, and I loved it then. But I had forgotten how mesmerizing the whole thing is put together. The strong sense of that particular time and place is unforgettable. It’s a prime example of the unique nature of most foreign productions, as compared to the U.S. The basic sensibilities are just different.
