Listening to this I wonder if John and Taylor were “in cahoots” about their responses in interviews. Like if their publicists said to “go with it;” what if they were like “let’s make this really messy.” But then Swifties being Swifties started coming for John and he was like “okay fuck you guys, I don’t deserve THIS” and wrote “Paper Doll” and actually was hurt it went from silly breakup PR to death threats.

In that era I always remember it being platonic but Taylor felt led on in ways and exposed to things (❄️?) I don’t know when or where this idea that they were a couple came about. Never heard this in 2010. Again just that she was messed with by him
