Hi Everyone,

Thank you all for sticking with me for the past while. I know I'm not all that active and so my patreon gets quite sparse with content. Despite that, some are still supporting actively and I want to send out my greatest appreciation for that. Once in a while I get some downtime from life and it gives me the chance to draw again. My current career isn't one that I can take on lightly... and so I'm using the remaining cinders of my willpower to work on creations only here and there.

Next year, 2027, I'm planning to change that.

How successful things will be, I don't know. It is going to be scary. It's going to take a while to get things set up, and set myself up, as I am going to be making a full-on transition of my life to Japan. Perhaps the story behind this will be shared someday... However a bonus to this is being at the heart of industry which will allow for connections, events and expanding my craft.

I will be taking a step back from my current obligations to pursue freelance illustrating fully. I'm not currently making a living from art, and so it'll be just taking the plunge to see if I can make it. That being said, I do have some back-up for my plans (this is not a spur of the moment decision), so please don't worry about that - your ongoing support is more than enough!

What this means is that you will be seeing more Art by KayJae, and better Art by KayJae. I've yet to really fully visualise what direction I'll take, but I will have to make a full effort to try and rotate my creative work into monetisation. This may look like creating more merchandisable goods (which will be much easier/accessible when based in Japan), or heading into more NSFW creation on the side (though I don't feel my appeal/selling point is NSFW). Ideally, I would want to try maximise passive income through original work, as there are only so many illustrations I can put out in a certain timeframe. It ultimately depends on what demand is out there, so if you had any particular thoughts on what may help to elevate my content but also put bread on the table, let me know~

I am far from an accomplished artist. Drawing, a lot of the time, feels like trying to write in a different language to me. I have much to improve. This will be my opportunity to put my time into it, and see if I really have what it takes.

If I'm not living up to this update next year, someone is going to have to whip me into shape, okay?

Hope this gives you a better inkling of who KayJae is and what they're doing. In the meantime, I'll be slaving away and hopefully you'll enjoy the rare morsels of artwork I'll dish out every so often~

Stay moist,

KayJae
