Chapter 40 - Jasmine
“Ah, that’s life.” I sighed as I relaxed on my new bed. After taking care of Jafar, I became an honorary guest of Agrabah.
I got my own quarters in the palace and was pretty much enjoying life like a prince.
With Jafar gone, there was nothing for me to worry about. We completely cleared out his hidden laboratory, and after analyzing the stuff with my new Skill, I let the guards take it. It was nothing interesting, just a bit of alchemy and some minor sorcery tricks.
Still, it was useful to have some knowledge of it.
Overall, the world of Aladdin was pretty peaceful. There was nothing for me to worry about since I had pretty much gotten rid of all the threats permanently. There was no Jafar who could return to threaten the peace.
While Iago had left, he was too scared to do anything. Not like he could.
A year to myself. Perfect for a good mix of enjoying life, studying, and training.
“You say, Brother!” Genie grinned from a couch beside mine, a manga in his hands. Wherever he got that from.
“How come you can get stuff from my world?” I wondered as I saw that it was a volume of One Piece that hadn’t been released yet while I was on Earth. It was over a hundred chapters more advanced than the last one I had read.
And I had pretty much kept up with One Piece weekly.
“Oi, eyes to yourself!” Genie chuckled as he hid the contents from my sight. “If you want your own, you’ll have to use a wish for yourself. Or rather, your Puppet’s last wish.”
Yeah, that was another thing that didn’t go as I expected. For some reason, my Synths were considered one and the same person by Genie. Even if I uploaded completely different personalities onto my Synths, they were still considered the same person.
Was it because they were made from the same genetic base material? Or because they were basically newborns? Or maybe it had something to do with their souls? Perhaps their souls hadn’t developed enough to differentiate between the different Synths, making them one and the same.
I had the feeling it was a combination of several factors.
At least I had learned that fake memories didn’t create a new person.
“I didn’t try to peek or go around your wish limit.” I sighed at my blue friend. “I was just wondering how your powers work. Where does your knowledge come from?”
“Hmm, that is a good question.” Genie turned into Stephen Hawking, wheelchair and everything, as he typed into the voice module, giving me a reply. “It comes from you and other people in this world. The Multiverse Theory may be true, but my powers are limited to this universe. But as long as people can think of something, as long as they understand it, I can do it. So you know there will be new volumes of One Piece. I can get them even if I’m not connected to them. All I need is for the concept to exist. And you make that possible.”
“So I could have wished for the complete collection of One Piece, even the chapters that haven’t been released yet, and you could have gotten them for me? The ones that would have been written in my world in the future?” I wondered. Or would it have been an alternative version created by his powers?
“Yes, I could get exactly the originals that would have existed in your world’s future. If you wish for it, I could even get alternative versions. I don’t need to understand it myself. My powers take care of the rest.” Genie explained as he lounged back on his couch.
“Interesting.” I nodded before glancing at the cover. “So you also know what will happen in future chapters?”
“If you ask me? Not at this moment.”
“Is Luffy going to be Pirate King before anyone else?” I asked directly.
“You need a wish, dumbo.” Genie sighed at me before chuckling.
“So you didn’t get any spoilers just now?”
“Nope. My powers didn’t activate since it wasn’t a wish.” Genie shrugged. “And I’m still reading this one, so I don’t need a future—”
Knock Knock
Genie used that moment to disappear inside my Pocket Space as I headed for the door of my extremely luxurious chambers. Honestly, how big could they become? This room alone was as big as an entire apartment for your average family.
Not to mention the luxurious gold aesthetics. This place was truly meant for the rich and royalty.
Opening the door, I came face-to-face with the beautiful visage of the lovely Princess Jasmine. Well, wasn’t that a beautiful sight? That harem-dancer outfit she usually wore fit her really well. It left very little to the imagination. Her face alone was already gorgeous, but without those brown robes covering her up, she was an amazing sight. The embodiment of sexiness.
Disney had truly forgotten its roots in modern times.
I really enjoyed having such a beautiful woman around. And I had only been a guest in this palace for a single day!
“Matt…” she greeted me, worry marring the beauty of her face as she stared at me with those pretty eyes. Damn, what was bothering her now?
I had already taken care of Jafar.
“Princess, come in. Is everything all right?” I greeted her back as I led her into my chambers. She was really gorgeous.
Following me inside, she took a seat on one of the divans decorating my room, while I placed myself on a cushioned chair opposite her.
“I need to talk to you,” she said nervously as she looked at me. Huh, what was this about? Had I done something wrong?
Was it something that could make me angry? Was she worried after I revealed my powers? I wasn’t really the type to abuse my power, especially against women.
“No need to be nervous, Jasmine.” I smiled warmly at her. It was hard not to with how sexily she was lying on that divan in front of me, her luscious black hair running down her back. “You can talk to me about anything. What do you want to talk about?”
“Eh—this… well, this may come a bit suddenly, but…” She began stammering, even more nervous than before. It was really cute, but then I saw determination reflecting in her eyes.
“Please marry me!”
Eh, what? I think I misheard her.
“My apologies, Jasmine. I think I may have misheard you. Somehow, I heard that you asked me to marry you.” But that couldn’t be right. She was a princess. She could set herself up with any rich and powerful prince she wanted.
I was just Matt. Sure, I was a multiversal wanderer and a powerhouse in this world, but…
“No, you heard me right. Please, Matt, I ask you to marry me,” Jasmine repeated herself.
I hadn’t misheard her. That had really just happened!
A Disney Princess had asked me to marry her. Holy shit, that—didn’t that happen a bit fast? No, wait. It was the same with Aladdin. All he needed to do was save her from that street vendor, and she had already fallen in love with him, or at least developed a strong crush on him.
Then he saved her and the kingdom from Jafar, and she was pretty much ready to marry him.
Her eyes were still watching me, the desperation and nervousness growing within them.
Right, I should talk to her. Say something, Matt. Don’t get lost in your own thoughts.
“Are you sure?” Great going, Matt. Question her about her decision. Act like a nervous wimp. That really attracts the women.
“This is a big decision. Not one you should make lightly. We’ve only known each other for a day. And my situation is complicated.”
Great save, Brain! Now I sound like a reasonable adult! Not a nervous kid!
But still, marriage. Sure, I wouldn’t say no to having some fun with a Disney Princess. But marriage was a huge fucking commitment. Not to mention that I didn’t really want to stay in this world for long.
I wasn’t even immortal yet.
Even if I were, it wouldn’t feel right to leave her behind sooner or later once we were married. Neither would it feel right to watch her grow old and eventually die while I stayed young forever.
Only scum would act like that.
What a mess.
Genie, what the hell do you think you’re doing? Why are you secretly hanging up wedding decorations behind Jasmine’s back?
“I am sure. That stupid law is already hanging over my head. And if I don’t marry someone by tomorrow, I will be forced to marry some prince that my father chooses for me. I would much rather marry for love. And I love you.” She said it earnestly, her beautiful brown almond eyes sending a tingling feeling down my back, those sensual red lips making my throat dry.
Fuck, why was I acting like a virgin now?
Love was a strong word. Did she really love me? I didn’t know. Maybe it was a Disney Princess thing.
Did I love her? Well, I was definitely attracted to her. It was hard not to be. But love was something that came over time, in my humble opinion. And that didn’t even address the big problem in the room.
“Jasmine, I would be lying if I said I wasn’t attracted to you. You are a truly beautiful and stunning woman. Beyond that, you are kind and caring. Any man who married you could count himself lucky. But I can’t stay here. I have big plans of my own, things I want to do and accomplish. And in a year, I will need to leave. I can’t remain here to be your husband and the next Sultan.” I reasoned logically, without trying to hurt her feelings.
Great, now I had made her sad. Fuck those eyes. It hurt seeing them like that.
“Sit beside me, Jasmine.” I patted the spot on the large cushioned chair beside me.
I didn’t mean that close. Damn, now she was clinging to me. Wow, that felt nice, her sizable breasts pressing against my side. But why was she hugging me? I had just told her to sit. That was so unfair.
Think, Matt. Don’t let her distract you.
“As I said, I am on a journey. I am going to leave this place in exactly a year, and it will be hard for me to come back anytime soon. It would be decades before I returned here, and that is non-negotiable.” I said firmly, not letting her distract me.
Or at least I tried.
“You could take me with you…” she whispered into my ear, making me feel her warm breath against my skin. She was doing that on purpose.
Did she have any idea how sexy she was? Why wasn’t I telling her to stop? That’s sexual harassment! I could sue her!
Who was I kidding?
“I could…” I admitted. I really could take her with me. There were no problems with the logistics. I was already planning to recruit some people in the next world, and adding one more wouldn’t hurt since there weren’t that many in the first place. For now, I needed a rather small crew.
Too many would be a hindrance, but one more wouldn’t impact my plans.
“Then it is decided!” she said triumphantly.
“Stop right there!” I sighed. What was with this girl? “Didn’t you listen to me? We would be gone for decades! What about your father? I don’t think he has decades left in him. What about the kingdom? Who should rule Agrabah in your stead?”
“But—” she pouted.
“You really don’t want to marry some random prince, huh? Wouldn’t you become queen then?”
Jasmine glared in disgust at that. “I would be Chief Consort. Or Sultana.”
“Okay, I get why you don’t like it.”
“See? Whoever becomes my husband will be Sultan, with all the power in the kingdom. I will just be his trophy. His pretty wife and the key to the throne. He could pretty much use me as the throne itself.” She said heatedly. “Don’t misunderstand me. I have no problem with being a good wife to my husband or with him becoming the Sultan. But I would prefer to marry someone I love. I want to at least choose the man who owns me myself.”
Right, while this was a Disney movie, it was based on medieval Arabia. Women didn’t have many rights here.
“And you are choosing me? Maybe you can talk things through with your father? I’m sure he would give you more ti—”
“The law leaves no doubt. I have to marry by my eighteenth birthday. I am the last of my father’s line.”
“Don’t you have cousins?” I remembered. Wasn’t one of them looking like Jasmine and working as a teacher?
“I do. But they are from my mother’s side.” Jasmine sighed. “See my problem?”
“Yeah, but marrying me wouldn’t solve that either. I can be Sultan for a year, but what after that? I wouldn’t feel comfortable leaving you behind, or leaving our child behind if we have one. The problem for the kingdom and your father would remain. Not to mention, you would still have to leave him behind for years to come and probably never see him again.” I pointed out directly, making her look downcast.
Damn, I didn’t like that look on her. Such a look just didn’t belong on that pretty face.
But what could I do?
…
Well, now that I thought about it, admittedly, quite a lot.
For one, there was my Multiversal Gate Skill. It let me travel to any place and time period. That would pretty much solve the problem by itself.
While I hadn’t tried it yet, since I hadn’t had a reason to do so, I should be able to return to the exact moment we left from, making the entire problem moot.
But did I really want to return to Agrabah so often, becoming the Sultan every time I did so, before leaving again for years at a time?
Not really.
It was a beautiful place, I wasn’t going to lie. But in the end, it was far too medieval for me to stay here forever. And it was small, too. I didn’t think this was a combined world of Disney movies. I had never specified it as such.
I just wanted to go to the world of the Aladdin movie, with me being a Diamond in the Rough so I could enter the Cave of Wonders. It was just for my wishes, nothing more.
So, in the end, this world was far too small to hold me here for long.
Even if I came back here, I would only do so after being away for a long time, and I still wouldn’t want to stay here permanently.
But there were other things I could do to solve this entire dilemma.
“All right, Jasmine, you convinced me. If you are really willing to marry me and travel the Multiverse with me, then I have a solution. One where you wouldn’t have to never see your father again, and neither of us would be forced to stay here forever.” I decided.
“I am willing!” She nodded, her brown eyes looking right into mine before she paused. “What’s a Multiverse?”
