Looks Like a Tigercat almost. Interesting design, will be a fun one for those 1946 what-ifs.

Yes - they had a simiar performance as the US-Tigercat. 4 of the Ki-83 were built and were tested by the USAAF after WW2. Using high-octane fuel they had a speed of 473 mph at an altitude of 23,000 ft. There are also fotos of these planes with US insignias. So also interesting for assembling the miniatures :)
