I feel like the creature shows them their desire, which is funny for each of them. Since that would mean that Bailey wants Karta to act that way, but knows that is a fantasy that would never be reality. Likewise, Karta wants Bailey to stop holding to rules and just act on her attraction.

Pretty much! It shows their own fantasies about each other. The deeper layer of that is that Bailey wishes to be seen as a hero and a dependable person and wants to take care of her partner, and Karta wishes for Bailey to loosen up a bit, and tell her (Karta) how she feels about her with no restraints. The less deep layer is that they both find each other hot lmao :D
