Hey everyone! Time for a "what's up!" update.

Also, since it's been a while since I added a link to the hubpost with some other/older things. Here you go. If you've haven't yet, consider trying "spookytimes".

Okay, so what have I done, what am I doing and what will I be doing? Since I released a new 18Titans build about two weeks ago I've been replaying parts of FET in order to jumpstart my memory. I write stuff which I want to remember later on down (on paper and in txt files) ...and promptly lose those. I knew there was something I still needed to included in the upcoming FET build for August but I just couldn't remember what it was and the notes I DID find didn't contain what I knew I had forgotten. It's funny how that works... you don't know what it is but you know it wasn't THAT.

While I was doing that I encountered some things I wanted to change in earlier books, like for example the volleyball game during book 2. I wanted to make it feel more fluid and easier... and less of it! There were a few too many times were you were asked to win a volleyball game. Then there was the whole knife throwing part etc.  I also added some more tattoos on Jinora wherever I forgot and a lot of other small things. I can get severely lost when stepping back into older books. Eventually I ran into what I intended to find and then it was back to working on the next FET build.

Like I said before I intend to make it the last one for the love route epilogue. You won't be seeing a "The End" message. For anyone what wants that, there's the end of book 4 where you got to choose between Nagina or the Spirit.  I'll try to make the upcoming build feel slightly more important than a usual build, but in essence you can keep sleeping and progressing to a new day forever. Once that's done I'll go and return to the slave route epilogue(after another 18Titans build). I'm not going to say anything about that though. That's for much later.

By the way, I was tempted to just keep working on the 18Titans build for this month and reset my monthly schedule that way, BUUUT because the next FET build will be slightly more special I figured it would be a smarter decision to reserve that time for FET. In essence I'd like to release the new FET build halfway through August, but I'm giving myself the entirety of August if it turns out I need that. Though I also would like to take a break and if I can have it ready halfway of August I could take some off time... maybe baby... who knows, we'll see.

That was the on-topic stuff now let's go off-topic!

18Titans was made for a significant part on my mini-pc rocking Linux Mint. I've really come to love the little bugger. There's something really nice about having such a small -no bigger than a book- pc which takes up no space at all. And I've come to really appreciate Linux too. Updating the system has become a fun thing to do instead of a bother. I still haven't found proper alternatives for all the software I used on my windows machine, but I'm for 90% there and for anything I can't do without and no Linux alternative I used some emulation. I read Linux usage has recently passed 3% on "normal user" hardware. That's not a lot, but it used to be 2% for a long time. When looking at how easy it was to get Linux Mint to do what I wanted it to do, I can see why.

Also since my mini-pc's casing had poorly place air vents I... made one out of cardboard. I'll refrain from showing you pictures because I don't want you to point and laugh at me.

My mouse troubles are pretty much over since I bought and adapted the last one, but my keyboard decided it was time to give me shit. The kind where you sometimes have to repeatedly press down on a key before it wants to register. That's especially fun when you try to punch in a password and forget some keys don't register!

I tried to open the keyboard and see if I could fix it myself, but that wasn't a success. As I've mentioned plenty of times before I have a graveyard's worth of old pc's and peripherals(including keyboards), but their ps/2 connections are none existent on my mini-pc. I didn't want to buy a new one while I have plenty working ones so I got one of those  PS/2 Keyboard/Mouse to USB Converters and that works great.

I started using a really old(but looks like new) keyboard which weighs a ton! I love it! At first I thought it was stuck to the shelve when I tried to lift it, but no it was just THAT heavy. It feels really good to type on and I swear to god it can double as a dumbbell  (which reminds me of this video  -  I laughed so hard)

Other than that I started watching deep space nine. I tried getting into it earlier but couldn't, so this time I just started watching from season 3, which helps. Maybe if I go back to season 1 and 2 later I'll be better able to appreciate it. That's also why you could see a certain  space station (Terok nor) passing by after launching the space ship in 18Titans.

And that's what has been going on in Marty land. Nothing else to see here people(unless you open the attachment) Talk to you again in August! Marty out!

take all the time you need bro we will wait for you

Plz just take the entirety of August. There are still so many missing pieces. To ease things here they are that I remember. 1. Book 3 love route still has no reward for beating Iroh. 2. You still can't compare Biceps of captain and Ajala. 3. There is still no explamation what happened to your and Mai's child that you conceived. 4. Repeatable pillory scene with Ajala even though it was teased. There propably is more and I know that you can not have everything, but still these are just minor polish things

You should try something like OneNote for keeping track of notes. Idk if there is a freeware equivalent, but it is sooo useful for my workflow. I can easily jot down ideas and useful info that I can categorize for follow up. Beats the heck out of txt files anyway. Though you can also place links to txt file paths if you’re married to those. DS9 is pretty interesting as far as Star Trek goes. A lot of it is in depth commentary on certain religious dogmas. I find religion fascinating though (as a non believer) so may not be everyone’s cup of tea.

Dan Curtis

DS9 is my favorite StarTrek. Benjamin Sisko is such a complex character and an actual war criminal, which really departs from how Picard tends to handle situations. I love the entire cast of that show.

Sh0tgun_Jacks0n

Honestly (and I am cherry picking probably the most obscure portion of this update to comment on), you're not missing a whole lot by skipping S1 and S2 of DS9. Maybe a bit of foreshadowing and backstory on the Dominion towards the end of the latter, and there are some good ones sprinkled in there, but I wouldn't even hold it against anyone who skipped out entirely. IMO they took about as long to find their legs as the TNG cast did.

Bearlife 22

Yo honestly bro you should make it so that slowly at the end of book 4, all the females you have been with slowly come to the island

Askance

DS9 is very good, I suggest using a "watch list" This would tell you the key season 1&2 episodes while letting you skip the not great that kills your momentum. The series gets so good by the later seasons is watch list is basically all the episodes lol

Mikkel frost møller

i just hope that when you are done with FET that you tell us or give us options for what kinda game you are gonna make next so you dont waste your time and sorry if that is to much to ask and if the next build is really gonna be the last please say that in the last scene you make

SunShine

Deep space 9 is so good. Tons of filler though.

lil_vinci

he already had a poll for all of that a long time ago

MechaWeeb

Is it filler or world building?

Unfunny000

What's deep space 9?

Thenexttretiak

Ds9 HD some of the same issues that voy had it takes 2- seasons to get started and really starts getting gokd

Drax

I know you are super busy but man I would love a Spookytimes 3

MITY

Well, it's certainly not like I can add some smaller things along the way after the next build. FET is probably something I can still add and improve upon after even the slave route epilogue is done, just in a more happenstance (bits here and there) manner than a true storylike addition. But about Mai's child, that's Izumi. I'm hopefully not having a huge brainfart moment where I screwed up something with that. Send me a dm if I have!

MITY

So far ds9 varies wildly when it comes to my appreciation for episodes. Some I like immensely and others I don't care for at all. But regardless, it's nice to have a bunch of "new" star trek to watch. As for taking notes, my core problem is just that I'm too unorganized. I'm getting better at it, but it's a sloooow process.

MITY

@Dan. I'm curious where I'll stand on that after finishing it, but I must say it's scratching a different "itch" from other trek so far.

MITY

Riker needed to grow his beard and Sisko to shave his head to gain momentum:) ? Maybe that's why they gave Janeway so many different hairstyles. I'll most likely give the first seasons of ds9 another try once I'm done, but I'm not the kind of person who feels like he needs to see everything. I can already tell it'll be weird to see Sisko not being bald anymore.

MITY

Well... al of 'em is a bit much considering there's already 16 (best case scenario) girls on the island. Adding more to that and there's very little you can effectively do anymore with them practically speaking.

MITY

Right now I'm just "skip-watching" episodes which don't really do it for me(watching them with a lot of skipping in between) and maybe give 'em another try once I reach the end.

MITY

I still have the slave epilogue so there's enough time for any sort of extra possible polling, but I'll always go where my perverted heart will steer me. By the way I can't literally say when a scene is the last one, because I can always come back and add more. I don't plan on adding anything big, but there won't be a "falling of the curtains" for the epilogue.

MITY

@Unfunny000 An old star trek series.

MITY

@MechaWeeb To me that's highly dependent on how I feel. Some days I just don't have the patience for anything slow/deep and other days I do and filler becomes world building again.

MITY

I don't think I've seen any trek, where that wasn't the case. Though I haven't seen everything. I'm working my way back and one day I'll watch original trek with Shatner :)

Benjamin Klandestine

Aw man, Deep Space 9 is my second favorite Star Trek Series. Nothing can top Next Generations for me, but I do love DS9 dearly. DS9 does has way more beautiful women in it, though.

Don kibonk

Pretty sure he meant as in when you do the "real" route (choose leaving) and you can impregnate both mai and azula

I know this comment is old, but as a die-hard DS9 fan I gotta speak up. I understand why you want to start from season 3. The first two seasons were mostly episodic and don't have any relation to the overarching plot through to season 7. But, I beg of you, WATCH THE SEASON 2 FINALE before you continue. It's the first episode in the show that has to do with the main series-spanning plot and it's the introduction to something incredible. Thanks, I hope you read this in time.

Finally got to reading this post, that youtube video cracked me up.
