Night Fell On Laestra: Book I Chp. 9 (Patreon)

I think I finally figured out how this thing needs to be changed. As a grown adult I have a lot of problems with the paternalism of my premise here, that seven kids from offworld can investigate a problem on a planet without any help at all from anyone on the planet. So, when I revise it, I'll add in an on-site contact that they're either living with, or who's responsible for getting them their extended stay hotel rooms.

Anyway, probably no one is reading this, but just in case someone else, it kind of sucks that I left off posting at Chapter 8, just before the past and the present catch up with each other. So here's Chapter 9 for whoever cares.
