The Cold At The Heart Of The Light Chp. 1-3 (Patreon)

Why is there an image of Milla Jovavich from Resident Evil above? Because when I was running a Livejournal muse journal for Meg Santoro, I used Milla Jovavich as a face claim, largely because I couldn't find good pictures of Gillian Anderson looking young enough. Someday, I'll get someone to do actual art of Meg, and give her her own unique look... someday.

Anyway. This is "The Cold At The Heart Of The Light", a novel I've been writing since 2006 or so and that I've had in planning since 1992, about a supervillain who controls organic tissue being called on to save the baby of her former mentor, the leader of the superhero team that is her nemesis. I've described Meg in the past as my rampaging id; she's very intelligent, but violent, emotional, driven by passion rather than reason, and has a serious case of blue-orange morality. Or maybe just a serious case of the ends justify the means. Also, she's aromantic, hypersexual and straight, which is pretty much my opposite in all three regards. 

Chapters 1 - 3 are complete now. They need revision because I'm not quite as good at producing a good first draft in original fic as I am with fanfic and because original fic has to be held to higher standards anyway, but they're not, like, shit I wrote when I was 16 -- they're still chapters I'm proud of and stand behind.

I posted 1 and 2 earlier, and an incomplete 3. I'm reposting everything because that was a long time ago.
