The symbolism with the colors shadowhunters wear is set out in a nursery rhyme. That is why they wear gold at weddings, black as work clothes and white at funerals. "Black for hunting through the night For death and mourning the color's white Gold for a bride in her wedding gown And red to call the enchantment down White silk when our bodies burn Blue banners when the lost return Flame for the birth of a Nephilim And to wash away our sins. Gray for the knowledge best untold Bone for those who don't grow old Saffron lights the victory march Green to mend our broken hearts Silver for the demon towers And bronze to summon wicked powers"

My heart is absolutely bleeding for Alec. It is clear how rattled he is by agreeing to Clary's scheme without running it by Magnus or even Jace. Aldertree is an ass. The least he could have done is thank Jace for saving his life! And now he is starting some shady stuff with Izzy? He has to go! That demon was absolutely terrifying. How long has she been doing this to women? That is vile and they need to find out what is with Madzie. I enjoy how the story builds more and more every episode.
