If they had called this episode Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde, it would have been too on the nose, but that's the story here rather than Beauty and the Beast(s).

I like the parallels in the abusive relationships between Pete/Debbie and Angel/Buffy. It is clear in the bathroom scene that Buffy is actually talking to herself about her relationship with Angel, which is probably why she is so harsh with Debbie.
