this feels like I just discovered anime for the first time and ive never seen anything like it

the world building, the production, the uniqueness. This will probably be my anime of the season 🤯

Saw very little in terms of pre-release material for this show. Obviously didn't see the twists coming, very positively surprised by that. Was originally planning on just watching the first episode and then likely dropping it, but the fact that they tricked me like that actually makes me want to keep watching. Also really like the design on the female Daemon of his, so that's another benefit.

i remember thinking with the PV it was like a world mostly in the past with some elements of modern looking things not THIS

Kaikasshu

I wish this a double episode!! Great stuff.

xy1000ch

Very confusing first episode. Don't yet know if I should like it.

Juzism

great 1st episode an excited its a consecutive 2 cours, with this crack head theory im not fully convinced Asa is going to be a villain, it is fucked what she did to the fake Asa but who's to say she was actually not dangerous, but they way she did it was terrible way of doing it

Well that sounds promising! I was gonna watch slime last night but then I didn’t… Funny story regarding my Slime comment the other day; I woke up to find my cousin sitting downstairs lol Apparently my grandma even hid his shoes when my mom went to pick up the muffins she made. He got in late last night apparently XD

Master

I totally agree with you. It really feels like discovering anime again. Such an amazing first episode and it's so unique, with modern Military clashing with more primitive weapons and some magic mixed in as well. Can't wait for more. And the art style really feels like Full Metal Alchemist.

Demi

very solid first episode, really looking forward to this.

Ah, Arakawa-san... that's why you are one of my favorite mangaka ever. Right along the other GOATs. I swear, so help me the Gods of Anime and Manga (not Aqua), THIS is how you write a story! The Sheer. Amount. Of Worldbuilding. In. ONE. EPISODE! Show, don't tell! And let the viewers/readers ask the questions as we embark on the ride of the year! ...Is what I would be saying if the competition wasn't so damn fierce this year! Let me remind you that we are still waiting for ReZero Season 4 and Witch Hat Atelier to drop. Plus we had Frieren and Sentenced to Be a Hero... and Clevatess returns this summer... This is how you make them... I'm gonna love this... and again, I'm gonna curse Arakawa-sensei when she kills my favorite characters after making me love them. But I'm gonna love this. Take your time, Studio Bones, however many years it takes to finish this series. I'll be with you the whole way, and I'll save my money for when that lovely Boxset appears with the full series, ready to put it next to my FMA boxsets. I'm S.O.L.D.

You know, gotta admit when I looked at the poster a while back... I didn't find anything that clicked with me and essentially slept on it without bothering to watch the trailer. Recently, I tend to not click with shows that have the ancient Japan aesthetics right away, I guess. But while I was having lunch at work yesterday, I happened to click on this reaction while browsing through my notifications, dunno why but I decided I'll just sit through since lunch break ain't that long anyway lol But... man, as soon as I saw the airplane trails, I just got instantly interested. Then barrier came down and everything that followed, everything just clicked into place and I knew right then and there that I made a huge mistake for sleeping on this show. I am completely locked in now and thank Heaven we have two cours of this back-to-back. Solid first episode, truly cannot wait to see more!

In english it's pronounced Daemons as you first said. So glad I watch your reactions because I most likely wouldn't have seen this if not for this video.

Espor

A few plottwists, a lot of mistery, and they basically avoided all tropes. That is impressive!

For some one who never watched FMA but this is so peak and I'm hooked

4six

Maybe it will entice you to watch later lol

Lol of course it was actually airplanes. I’d have been more surprised if they were like “sike it actually is a dragon that sounds and looks like airplanes (the trails)” Also the trailer did show people in suits/looked very “modern”, plus there was the emphasis of outside the village/outside world It’s interesting to see what people try to make sense of an airplane with when they have no concept of it though

4six

Some aspects of this so far reminded me of sword of demon hunter ngl, especially the weird Asa/sister thing

Hell yeah I think the teaser said back to back cours. Here’s to hoping it takes off and gets a full adaptation in due time!
