Ferdinand doesn't like to beat children. He is just an equalitarian who likes beating up idiots, regardless of gender or age. The fact that he was raised by the woman he hates most, does not make thing easier for him. The poor kid was simply raised as a puppet and denied the fundamental lesson that no matter who you are, there are still rules you need to follow.
