This girl gives the phrase "wear your heart on your sleeve" a whole new meaning. Kuro-tan remains the queen of interesting and colorful reactions as she navigates a uniquely complicated first love with best guy Minami-kun. Seriously, he is doing all the right things. AND he ain't a superficial guy, as he kindly demonstrated to those bullies. Because he, as a former overweight guy who made the effort to fix what was obviously a symptom of anxiety (he did say he gained weight due to stress eating), he konws what shallow creatures those specific types of girls are. Of course, considering Kuro-tan's unique condition, him courting her is like looking for a gas leak with a lit match. It's so fun to see which of his statements is going to "spark" Harugon's next coming. I was like "wait for it... wait for it... BOOM!". Good cliffhanger to end an episode where everyone got what they were searching for (some of them not aware they were). Now they have to live with the consequences. Now, as for Mothra-girl... my guess is that she is going to cause Kuro-tan as many problems as she helps her fix. I mean, she already did it in this episode. But hey! At least Kuro-tan made a friend of sorts. And Harugon may have gained another fan besides crazy little Manatsu, since at the end, Minami-kun was looking at Kuro-tan's kaiju form not with fear, but with interest.

I'm a bit disappointed that he missed her secret. It's fine a few times, but too much of that will be a bit annoying. On the other hand, she managed to reduce her tail. Getting close to him might help her know more about herself and maybe control her transformation. I love the kaiju fangirl. Every minute with her in the sleeping bag added a question in my mind. What do you mean, her family has employees lokking for her, dressed like a Saiki K character and acting like Men in Black? I think we were all that policeman in that scene.

I remember reading a comment about how it was originally going to be a kaiju-girl harem, but the author decided to dial it back into normal-ish shoujo territory.
