These aren't spoilers, but the God of Darkness and the Goddess of Light are the top two gods of this world. The two are married and the other gods are their children. Their names are special, and are not usually invoked. Using spells that call on the God of Darkness is not evil, but it does have an effect of stealing/disrupting mana.

high priest and the green guy that hurt myne in s2 was also kill like that and more mana mean it longer and more painfull. In s1 if it was the high bishop truly in charge myne and her whole neighberought could have be execut in s1 they would not have kill all the town but probaly block where myne life + the guard subordinate to gunther, myne would likely not be kill be transform into a breading machine and a mana baterie

Leif Solmunde

if it was not for main the whole town would get killed. in the book Ferdinand even listed that as the economic option as they have a mana shortage. from the spell Ferdinand cast it seem like traitors dont even get to go to heaven. even the old bishop did not get that harsh a treatment. the show does a job good showing how foreign the mentality of this world is. also imagine the governor being able to delete a citizen by going to the DMV.

I think there's confusion on what I'm saying, the joke is that if you find yourself needing to pray to a god of darkness you might not be the best person if the only way to punish is by killing. half of the mythologies and relgions have god darkness are not the worst of the gods, it's an at face value joke

because nobles in this world are basically evil and treat commoners like their Sims

azope

not all noble are bad people , it because of the historyo the duchy that in erenfest the situartion is particulary bad if erenfest would class by how bad they treat they comoner it would be in the lower end of the kingdom not at the botome but over all erenfest is a prety Backward archduchy in a lot of way

i love how the Panda Kiddie Car can turn into the Pandabus

You don't want to get on the noble's bad side and the events here really drive that in. What passes for common sense in the nobility is pretty harsh, but I think we can accept that as a fictional world it operates on it's own set of rules. By showing us the threat once, it becomes much more real than if it were left as a theoretical.

What would have happened without Myne: Simple the whole village would have been eradicated and ALL inhabitants ALL would have ended like this...

Seeing the villages be so happy and grateful, with only getting less harvest next year. Combined with more taxes for a whole 10 years. Really put into perspective just how screwed they were. As normally they would probably have been butchered like pigs. Also that door that they walked through react to ill will of a person. So that is how they know which one was innocent. But that spell is so brutal as what it basically means is. Because of your betrayal you will be nothing else other than the dust beneath us and forgotten. Which is so brutal IMAO

they didn't say in the anime (but mentioned in the manga) that it was a modification of the spell she used in the temple when the old high bishop tried to sell her to the noble and she put up a barrier that allowed friends (like the girl who was her servant and was caring for the baby) in but everyone else out.

I'm anime only so I might be wrong but that spell seemed too convenient. How do they have all the intrigue and politics if there is literally a spell that functions as a loyalty test? Couldn't the Aub just march all the nobles through it every year or so to weed out enemies? I personally think Ferdinand controlled who "passed" and who "failed" but faked this because he thought Rosemyne would be more accepting if she thought the gods did it. It doesn't make sense for the villagers who were tricked by the Mayor to still have "ill will" against them, but Ferdinand would want them killed for the insult of attacking the Monastery. I think he worked with the excited villager to identify who to kill beforehand which is why the guy was so enthusiastic about going through the gate.

my fav is people trying to tell me buddy clapping and smiling to the death isnt a psycho but "just loves spells and its a once in a lifetime expierence" almost like if you apply the same logic to a "tech ner" who "loves bombs" how it still makes you a psycho if this is the result with lives

Didrik Svahn

Fair enough but source readers say that is because of how the anime did adapt it. As they cut an earlier scene of him asking Rosemyne about her high beast. But otherwise I agree with you

Didrik Svahn

With the way they treat the commoners with guilt of association. You would almost think the nobles were a part of Israel lol
