And this right here is why the Empire will fall... humanity's greed never ceases to amaze me, especially with how they manipulate people's grief of losses they suffered in a war to keep them fighting cause they always need more

I like the showcase of this general, which shows him leaving alone. As his wife and daughter lives elsewhere and that his daughter’s husband probably was killed in the war. That really showcase that currently the war effort is the only thing he has to live for anything. As he does not have a family waiting for him back at home anymore. While he is a bit broken inside because of that as well. Which is probably why he was so easily convinced to continue the war

I’m not looking forward to seeing the empire lose. As it will be so horrifying to see it go down. Along with so many more people just because some politicians wanted better terms and rewards

WWI ran from 1914 to 1918; WWII was from 1939 to 1945. The year in the anime doesn't align with either conflict. If you talk to the WWX buffs about Tanya, they might mention that this fictional conflict draws elements from both. The Empire's positioning (geographically and politically, according to the scenario) closely resembles Germany's in WWII, and for all the loli-Hitler memes, the Empire's overall vibe, mannerisms, and tactics more closely resemble that of Soviet Russia. So I wouldn't worry about comparing to IRL alignment, because they may pay tribute to elements of both wars. And loli Stalin is an equally valid meme by my logic.
