I really wanna say why don't the soldiers turn on their government, especially Tanya, but look at our own world and history; it's easy to say they should, but it's a lot of risk with no guarantee of reward, which is why it rarely happens cause of the fear of what if it doesn't work and only you suffer..

The dialogue between Zettour and Tanya, when they discuss military tactics and plans. Is my favorite scene, as it’s so good to see two smart and capable people discuss plans

it's a real shame he is a POS when it comes to the lives of his fellow men cause he loves to follow orders 🗿

Didrik Svahn

Well to be fair he tried to stand up to the high leadership. Because of his fellow men and country. But they sent him away because of it

Didrik Svahn

Yes is it not normal for people to lose limps in wars? Is not that part of the reason for why wars are so terrible?

AH Brandon Reviews

if their thought is you suffering is a sacrifice I'm willing to make you are a bad person. thats why places like America and Russia have such low morale for wars vs Ukraine, because its the difference between a leader who cares and knows the risk and doesn't dehumanise you and one who does

Didrik Svahn

Ok that is fair enough, but Ukraine is also fighting for their very survival. Which would give them more morale as it’s something easy to get behind. Plus both Tanya and Zettour are lawful evil characters in a way. So it sort of makes sense that they would act like this

I disagree. I don't think that Tanya is the perfect soldier. I think Tanya is the perfect ladder climber/ middle manager. She is not quite a perfect sociopath, but she's very close. She understands that people have feelings and emotions, and she knows how to use that to her advantage. He just doesn't employ her own emotions when performing calculations. She very much sees the utility of other people and their potential and tries to find the perfect role for that. It's sort of like everyone has their place but with the utilitarian spin, not a prejudicial one. She also perfectly understands that people can grow beyond their current capacity whether through self-motivation or if she forces them to, that distinctly differentiates her from a complete sociopath. The loyalty she displays is purely calculated. She doesn't have any loyalty to the empire. It's just the shortest most efficient path for her to continue climbing that ladder, so long as they're still hope for the war ending or the empire winning. If she's presented with an opportunity of higher status in a different faction she would absolutely take that because it would be a quicker path to rear lines or so she thinks. Her denial of being x's power is the thing that always bites her in the ass, because she doesn't think that at the moment where she's about to succeed being x isn't just going to intervene and screw her plans yet again.

Tanya needs to pop off and take over the empire and then she will get her peace deal.

I think Tanya might have passed the point of swapping sides when she ended up becoming the poster child for the Empire and multiple times decided to sack the capital of an enemy nation as a flex.
