Anyone else feel that Beryl is going to duel his dad, and this will be the big push for him to think he might still have a chance of growing??

21:30 final thoughts on the episode. Let me know what you thought!

Would it blow your mind to know that beryl is a mineral? More commonly known as Emerald... Might be some symbology going on here.

I had no clue beryls were emeralds. I can't wait for him to become Super Beryl after he collects the 7 Chaos Beryls.

SheepReaper

I just thought Emerald because of his outfits, but technically Aquamarine, Morganite, and Emerald are all different variants (crystal arrangements/impurities?) of Beryl. So maybe it's a sign for the 3 wives he'll eventually have?

In the LNs Beryl is often thinking along the lines of: "I'm not quite as fast or strong as I was, but my eyes are just as good as ever". When we learn about his mom's weather reading it made my head canon jump to wondering if Beryl doesn't have a bit of natural magic in his eyes. It would also tie into the smol girl with a big sword having more strength than would seem humanly possible, at least IMO. The fights were of course longer with them coming from multiple directions on the signal, but understandable anime needed to cut down on the time.

Beryl actually ask a good question, it didn't crossed my mind because obviously his dad is old, so it's natural to pass Dojo onto his son and he retires. Beryl is asking whether he thinks he is stronger than his dad now? yeh bro it will be interesting next week, because like we already know Manga deviates and all these episodes are brand new to me, extra content, don't care if people complain that it's not the same, I'm eating good with new stuff, or rather the light novel source material adaptation. Thank you dad🗿

His name reminded me of a spell in Overlord, "Body of Effulgent Beryl", but I never considered that it was an actual word.

The grandpa didn't even hesitate a single second to say his son is stronger that those skilled sword fighters. They've been hyping the answer to the question whether Beryl or his dad is stronger for a while now. Can't wait to find out! I would expect Beryl to be stronger now, as his father's strength has waned a bit with age.
