Yeah my biggest question about this show has been why resuscitation magic was not cast more often. As it seemed like such an effective spell to make someone immortal. Which is such a useful thing in a prolonged war. But I wonder if that did affect Mimi’s development as she still act so much like a small child. Despite being 14 at least

Interesting to learn that people is more suited for different kind of magic here. And seemly they affect how you smell. Seeing how Mimi says that Sheena smells like her mom. And they both were great at healing magic. So I think that is too much of a convince

The one thing I will give the mermaid show is how well it did tackle depression. Now that accuracy might have affected how enjoyable the story was to some. As it did not try to hide with comedy or similar stuff

I can't really tell where this is going. First, for who knows how many years, Mimi living her life as a killing machine underground. Then, I guess, they wanted to give her something like a life, so she came to school. That will deeply affect her in many ways, especially she gets a way clearer understanding of the meaning of death and grief. I feel like there might be a way this will have bad consequences. They showed us.. Seiran and Ari already talked about the question about ressurection magic. So I think, it is not just her own personality that makes Ari not want to use it. I think Seiran told her what she wanted. And Ari sees the correct perspective. Eternal life - especially in war - is not a gift. Especially not if your dearest one sacrificed themselves. Now Sheenas gift for healing is also interesting. There should be a reason for it. Since Mimi is immortal, she won't have to sacrifice herself for her. Also she should know, how important she becomes for Mimis psyche. I think very soon there will be a point where Mimi can't imagine a life without her. Or, we are already there. Well at least I don't worry so much anymore that the outcome will be like akane ga kill. There might be more deaths, there might be a very bittersweet ending, there will be tears. But this show is way more thoughtful in its approach to its topics.

I wonder about the nurse. Is she immortal too? She seems to have known Mimi's mother, but she does not look old enough to have been able to in a natural way. Maybe she just had a lot of information, but if Mimi does not seem to be able to process loss, it might seem like the nurse has been taking care of her since the mother died. Sheena seems like she might be able to avoid the draft, and not by some corrupt connections, but her own merits.

Yeah this episode made me wonder about the timeline. As Mimi has mentioned that she has been there since before it was turned into a school. And from Sheena this school has been there most of her life. As I don’t remember her thinking this school is new. So this then call into question the age of the nurse. Who looks to be in her 30s or early 40s at most. But she did talk about Mimi’s mother like she was her student rather than the other way around. Which did make me a bit confused in how it all fit together 🤔

Noname Noface

Maybe it was the other way around. The nurse was already immortal, the mother was the student and she learned the spell from the nurse.

That could be the case as the nurse seem to know a lot about it
