I really like that all surviving arancar had a role in these battle. Most of this episode was new stuff but it was great!!

ya I dont get people who are upset over Orihime or anything being "pointless" all this does is allow everyone their moment against a dude whose ability is basically nuh uh. it allows us to see many could defeat under normal circumstances, which is really cool, until the final moment that does him in

Kaikasshu

Yeah, it shows how all Ichigo friends grew to the point over the series to even fight this guy and "beat him" Great character development especially for Orihime. Sucks that viz is making it hard to celebrate this on youtube.

99% anime only. Only Ichigo and Gerard's powers being absorbed was from the manga and even those were changed to fit better with the better visuals and the story improvements. EDIT: Forgot Yhwach exiting through the portal but it was completely changed here so I give myself a pass.

I get why some are upset about Gerard's end. But instead of some "satisfying end" we got something truly awesome. Additionally, this didnt happen in the manga, I think Yhwach Bach's next target is Aizen's Hogyoku. Again, a deviation from the manga, but imagine the final fight being everybody teaming up with/to protect the major antagonist for most of the series. People didnt get Aizen's Bankai in 2016. I want it here.

I think you said before you would read the Manga after this was done... Uryu didnt have a Volstandig in the manga. Halibel didnt appear and was presumed dead until the light novels confirmed she was saved. If memory serves, the distortions werent a thing past what was Cour 1. There's a reason manga readers consider this version of TYBW cannon over the manga.
