I watched this last night Seems interesting so far—was wondering if you would because it definitely seems like something you’d be into Seems like it will stay a VR thing and not some isekai thing—I think it would be refreshing to get more like this and Shang ri la where it’s legit a game and not isekai into a game scenario

That's because it's changed for the audience; that's how localisation works same reason English dubs will often do it (people online do moan, but the average person does prefer this, or it wouldn't keep happening). Every Korean-named series does this cause Japan prefers it, as it's easier for the audience in question to understand it. Also, it doesn't make as much sense when a Japanese dude speaking Japanese is talking about another country's currency and whatnot; changing to their location narratively changes nothing but makes it make more sense for the audience (more often than not). Basically boils down to the average anime fan understanding the yen, and the average Japanese person, similar to an English person, prefers their own culture for ease of access.

I really thought we had a Nuclear Gandhi situation, where the game couldn't handle the -1 and the code would assign a number on the opposite end of the scale, so our MC would become lvl 999 or something, but they chose something slightly different.
